I also think how those people ride a bike. I thought both levers on the handle are brakes like bicycle..

Hmm, I used to think that bikes are dangerous and did promise myself not to touch bikes (aka getting license)

After I got a chance to ride on my friend's Phantom, I changed my mind... Bikes may be dangerous, but they command freedom of movement (can squeeze, can park almost anywhere).

So I took up bike license because I dun wan to take BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk) and my ex wanted me to be able to bring her around... =)

So thats how I ended here I guess... =)

Never thought of riding a bike when young, being mesmerised by four wheels. During NS, under the influence of curiousity, took my CLS2B. Lurve it man, very interesting and fun.

My first experience with bike is during my ITE days, where my clsmate got his first bike which is phantom. He pillion me that time, the feeling was great but never thought of taking up license for bike tat time.

Didn't really know what type of bikes available... only knew that my first bike was CB125T

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

I was hoping to get a car. Get a bike license to go to work only. In the end, hooked onto it. Taking care of my baby makes me happy!

Anyways, the impression that I got from bikers when young was that they're impressive, old, and one of a kind.

Like for instance back in '95 when I saw this huge red Mito being parked near the letterboxes, with the Lucky Strike paintjob... kept on thinking about how impressive that fella was to be owning this sleek sportbike, the money that he paid for it -- i actually thought the price he paid is as much as car drivers did, as well as to be in control of a machine that propels itself forward at fast speeds, unlike a bicycle.

FF to now, having completed my 1 year being a 2B-licensed rider and a current holder of 2A (and owning a 2A class bike), I look back at the 125cc Mito that I once saw, mentally gave it a salute, and told myself that there are needs way beyond than that of a Mito, not to mention needs that surpass owning 125/150cc sportbikes...

I happen to grow up among a family of bikers. My family used to be poor and dad could only afford to buy a first hand RXK (FK plate). Back then, my uncles were riding Kawa ZX750, Suzuki Katana750, Bandit,TZR,Dragstar and so on. So I asked my dad why was his bike small compared to my uncles. He just smiled and said, "The bikes are too heavy for your short daddy,my legs too short to reach the road".

It was only when I got older that I realised my dad's sacrifice for our family. So I decided to study hard and live my dad's dream.

I fell in love with the biking culture when I was 6 and I'd always go to the library and sometimes borrow books on motorcycles and share them with my dad and comment on how sleek the new models are. (1989)

The only thing I hate about bikers since the early 90s are bikers on 2 strokes! Back then there were no regulations on vehicle modifications and most of the 2 stroke bikes back then were ear-splittingly noisy, especially at night. I often wonder why dad's and uncles' bike were not so noisy compared to these road mosquitoes.

Nowadays, dad's quite content with riding his Honda 250 NightHawk even though I tried to get him to try out my Gixxer. "Too scary for an old man," he said. Uncles now all happy happy drive car, scrap away their bikes already.

Now it's our generation's turn to leave an impact for the next generation...

*ps-Now it's my turn to shatter the peace at night with my unbaffled Yoshi.
