But when I lower the rpm...the engine keeps dying off during cold start.

My FC has dropped to 39km/L travelling at 90 - 95km/h expressway riding. This is after tuning from BS. Their tuning is on the high idling speed.

Maybe I would need to bring it down to a motordiam to better the setting.

Do you guys turn the fuel valve to off position when parking? The manual recommends it but so far I do not practise it. Any setbacks on that?

For me, I dont practise switch off my fuel valve as I always forget to on it back when I want to ride. I dont think there is any setbacks. For idling wise, I am intending to tune mine to higher idling speed as I experience cold start problem. FC may be affected a little after tuning the idling. Riding style and road conditions may affect FC as well. For example, you may experience a poorer FC riding constantly in congested traffic as compared to riding in the expressway. I guessed that on average if you can do 38km/L, it should be good enough.

I have overcome the 2nd gear problem already. Actually, the problem was caused by my timid throttling. After my second EO change at 800km, I decided to rev and drag the bike a little harder and the problem is gone. My next step is to tune up my idling to counter the cold start problem. Hee hee...

I dont use JB petrol at all due to its poor quality like contamination and lousy FC. If your carb overflow, you will have problem starting your bike. You sure that the fluid that comes out of the tube is petrol? Or maybe its rain water from the recent adverse weather?

Oh dear, that is indeed a strange problem cos I never had any problem with Malaysian petrol with my previous bikes. I intend to bring my CBF to Malacca for a short trip next month and will be surviving on Malaysia petrol, hope there won't be any adverse effect. :p

Oh I see. I would say that most probably it is due to the different fuel viscosity that resulting in the fuel travelling the alternative route down the drainage pipe instead of the standard passage to the carb.
