I am undecided between Akrapovic slip on and Yoshimura slip on (not R55)! Yoshimura to me is more suited for s4 where else Akrapovic is made in Slovenia and is red, which is matching for my red/white slowpoke

Any help? $1176 and $800, difference of $300 can buy 17 pieces of oil filter and can pay my phone bill!!

Anyone using star brake hose? As good? Venhill and hell kinda steep for me. Unique told me star hose is as good. With lifetime warranty.. How?!

I've heard that manufacturers of HEL brake lines and STAR were partners, before STAR became it's own brand.

STAR is good!

Warming up ticking im okay with it. Main concern is whenever ride through wet weather , the tick become so obvious ! Super loud and clear LOL. The ticker accelerates together when I throttle.

After some dry run , the tick goes away again. Just wondering why will the tick become so loud when riding through wet weather.

A mechanic from Racewerks did explain to me bout tick

Tick sound.. It's cause of (Shim) plate wear n tear.. (correct my spelling if I'm wrong. It's due to wear n tear and it's normal n u still can ride. But if u service ur bike n change the shim will regain some Hp..

If I'm not wrong 1 shim cost $12. It's around few hundred to a thousand repair. Jux my 2 cents knowledge

Star and HEL is somewat similar. Same manufacturer or something like that. HEL has ''brand power''. A small top up from STAR prices.

Its steel braided line anway and beats rubber hoses hands down!

Best of all... The price is reasonable!

I guess what you mentioned about the shims is done during valve clearance.

Replacement of the shims. :)

But what most of us here are hearing is mostly the yamaha tick. As the tick doesnt even go off after valve clearance is done. :)

Quite hard to get the culprit here I guess.

Yamaha Tick VS Time to do valve clearance. :)

Bro...ure talkin abt brakes here and u say tat the price is too steep. Cmon...ure talkin abt ur life here too u noe. The brakes are the only lifeline u hv when riding these super powered bikes. My opinion is tat invest more on the brakes as u might nt noe wen these things come in handy, esp e-braking. If u want the cheapo brand, means tat ure playin wif ur life. Cherish ur life bro.... Heres my own statistics:

Venhill: made in UK, well known trusted by many racers. Superior quality, various colours to suit personal likings. Price range incldin installation: $200-$240

Goodridge: made in US, used most by US racers. Quite well known. Superb quality bt nt many choice of colours. Price range incldin installation: $200

Hel: made in US also, used by many racers too. Well known for the price tag as it is jz suited best for most users. Mid-high range product. Price:$180-$200

Star: locally made, i repeat MADE IN SINGAPORE. Tats y gt lifetime warranty. Brand jz started into motorcycle scene. Many stupid colours too choose from. Nt tested by most racers ive known incldin MSS. its cheap bt didnt noe whether gd or nt. If shop gif free, i rather put on class 2B bike. Price: $100-$180

Fyi all these are frm my own personal prefernce. U my doubt me bt i didnt to doubt my life. If u cld afford to buy ur babies, dun tell me u cant afford to buy sometin tat cld save ur life. So bro......choose wisely

Maybe I'm biased. But I trust Unique and their opinions, nonetheless, it's best to compare with others.

Eh? Why so random? lol. Anyway, my bike also serviced by Unique at Toh Guan. Simply because the mechanics are very honest. They don't have they will tell you don't have. Don't know will just tell you. Though little pricey but they're the few shops that label their products. Yep. Hahaha.

ticking sound is wear n tear of the tensioner, n timing chain.. so one time u go for servicing, shims, timing chain, tensioner change at 1 go.. then the sound goes away.. worst case scenario, got sound but u nvr change.. timing chain snaps n the bits fall into ur cylinders.. time to down engine broz...

for tyres mayb can try unique.. they have all pricelists and packages at their forum page..

price tag in general would be same plus minus a bit for most shops unless you wanna go AH BOY and save

even more bucks..

just my 2cents bro.. pay a bit more for a good quality tyres that ultimately save your life on the road.. :)
