wah lau its an open area lor.... I was there last Saturday during the NDP Preview fireworks. Enter from Marina South towards ECP Changi. Benjamin Shears bridge cannot lah, at least 10+ teepees there lor... unless u ride bicycle....

Venue : GP Esso (start point)

Date : Thursday 09August 2007

Time : 0900hrs (meet up)

Time : 0915hrs (setoff)

 

Single direction Iternary:-

"F" denotes stop for FUEL & FOOD / DRINKS

 

Total Mileage : about 220km

1st stop point : Kota Tinggi Petronas petrol kiosk (approx 120km from GP Esso)

2nd stop point : Mersing makan place (approx 100 km from Kota Tinggi)

3rd stop : Maybe th Beach?

ETT : approx 3hrs including rest time

 

So we'ed prob target to be back in GP Esso by approx 1500hrs.

Looking at the weather these days.... I think even if raining in SG, Malaysia also shitty...

KINDLY HAVE SOME PRE-RIDE CHECKS (This reduces downtime & increases riding riders) :-

 

1. EO level

2. coolant level

3. tire conditions/check presssure

4. batt and charging status

5. lube your chain

 

 

As we r ALMOST all on sports bikes...Some minimal items to bring if possible:-

 

1. Adequate riding attire for personal safety (FF helmet,jacket, jeans, gloves, raincoat,boots etc)

2. handphone best with ziplock bag! (My went kaput n the downpour..... and only 4 mths old phone!!)

3. personal bike tool for minor repairs (allen key, 10~12 spanner etc)

4. tyre patch kit (just in case!)

The types of rides differ to each his own. Would many you ride an a sportsbike to northen thailand? I did a few on a tourer, would try not to on an R6 coz i cannot tahan Yet...An R1 did... single bike only

 

There are some who did track once (in terms of once... its = first time right?) and swore its not fun. I like track also.. but like b-roads slightly better.

 

The first mersing was an eye opener, didn't like it as it felt dangerous. A few more similar B-road rides inherently instill certain public safety and riding skills very similar to commuting.

 

Tiring is definitely true... 1/2 dead today!! 100% effort commitment was never meant to be the aim in B-roads, or rather, roads in general....if not, most magazine editors would prob be "down" and there will no be much reviews of many motorcycles..

 

In fact, the bumps/ripples (which is not easily felt on SG roads/track) actually further helps one understand suspension tuning (DIY) much easier apart from comprehending from technical books/reviews. No rider style/weight is the same... and this actually makes the ride alot safer with confidence after tuning from the rider's own experience from the bike's feedback itself. This way, rider is able to dial in what is required on different types of rides. Look at Isle Man TT. the bikes go airborne, past a "tabletop" bridge, and during a corner. (a quote from a fren fren --> next time buy suspension look for isle man TT version! haha )

 

 

"u never go, u never know" .... good caption. If I never rode motorcycle, neither would i knew such adrenaline rush and satisfaction can be achieved in life!

I just dropped by Mersing yesterday. Weather is good! Beach is sceneric!

 

There are some road works along the way. Not dangerous, just super dusty!

I would suggest a change of MERSING RIDE ---> PASIR GUDANG CIRCUIT. Just want to check with the rest if all is fine. No bookings on 9th Aug (http://www.johorcircuit.com.my/bookings_page.htm), but expect a jam on 2nd link as there are numerous groups heading up north for the long weekend. Hence, we have to to meet early so as not to miss the 10am session.

 

JK... kindly check with you guys.... If majority still prefers mersing.... and we'll stick to plan A...
