maybe you just change EO thats y you feel the bike more heavy while riding. thats wat i think coz every time i change my EO the first 200-300km my bike feel more heavy it should be normal. (juz like run in engine oil) haha...

BTW i'm using Motul 300V double ester 5W40 or 15W50

If you dont want to feel your bike more heavy after changing NEW EO den you should try out the 5W40. Your bike will feel very light.

As advised from a known racing preparations specialist..NEVER USE 5W40/5W50 or EO that weightage..5W is too thin, it will cause your engine to wear faster.

10W40 is very light enuf..alternatively u can try 10W50 or 10W60.

Im using Amsoil 10W40..the oil stays in grade longer so there is no need for them to make it thicker ie 10W50/10W60..Usually EO maker make their EO thicker ie 10W50 / 10W60 so that the EO can compensate when it degrade..

Well..juz my 2 cents..FYI, I used Amsoil for 6 hrs of PG track practice and daily commuting for nearly 2 mths already..the feel now is better than other fully synthetic EOs I have tried b4 which only been used for 2 hrs of track riding..after 2 hrs I usually change cos the feeling sucks..but Amsoil lasts longer.

Its ok to you..but not me..

I dun wanna risk it..0W/5W all these are for cold winter weather. This is the oil thickness when at cold temp. Cold weather need thinner oil to penetrate..

The 1st digit with the W is the oil thickness at cold temp..the 2nd digit is oil thickness at hot/running temp. Oil will degrade..when degrade the thickness at running temp will drop from 50 to say 40..or 60 to 50.

Imagine at startup..u run EO thickness 0W..like putting water instead of oil..imagine the wear at startup.. :faint:

Not true Bro..

i personally used 5-30w(MOTUL 300v) for my training or race weekend..(have it change frequently/less than 500km)

Bike still running great for the pass 2 yrs plus..

THIS IS TO MY KNOWLEGDE :-

The Lower the numbers,if will have lesser density..

lower density it will have less mass..

Less mass make U/Bike lighter...

If ur racing..any chance of getting the bike lighter..

U will use/optimise it..

On the other side..

Lower Density might provide lesser protection on wears..

But with the New Generations Oil's..the additive in it..

They will provide ample protections..

But at the end of the day its abt PERSONAL PREFERRANCE...

i'm not saying ur WRONG..

But ur also not Right to give ur views/idea that using lighter/thinner oils is not beneficial/good..

ya agree with your...Its my first time using Motul 300V double ester 5W40. I personally find the EO too thin for SG use as i'm riding it feel very light. I believe this will cause the engine to wear faster as the EO degrade. Nevertheless i'm use it for only 3000km so it shold be ok. I personally think 10W50 is one of the best to use in SG. Juz my 2cent....cheers

Should go check Mezzo out, next to Motoworld. They got lots of stuff for R6 since they are racing R6s. I also hear that they are going to Europe for Technical Training with YAMAHA WSS TEAM this week for quite some time. So got to call them if you are going down.

bro..that is where my views states that it is not good to use very light oil in Singapore weather road use..Maybe I didn't mention it clearly. You said u use it for race..but most of us here use it daily..

Of cos lighter oil will have benefits over heavier oil in races..but we poor man, self sponsored track enthusiasts can't afford changing EO so often. You diff u noe..sponsored..

In cold weather countries..they use lighter oil during winter for daily use cos the engine clearances during winter is tighter..Cold temp, metal contracts..warm/hot temp metal expands..so during start up, bikes in winter benefit more from using thinner oil rather than thicker oil.

So in Singapore weather daily use context..where engine clearances is bigger, its more beneficial to use moderately weighted oil compared to very light oil.

Juz my 2 cents.. :thumb:

Yeah, perhaps. Still consider. Looking for R6 06. Heard is about 12 OTR. Cheaper for me.

Y not just use what specifcation is stated in the manual? For 50w oils, Are u not afraid they with move too slowly to lubricate? 50w is the also the viscocity of the oil. If oil too thick will cause a lot of cavitation(a lot of bubbles in the oil) so your oil pump might not be effective enough with cavitation at higher rpms.
