E reason to run in another 1500km is to clear all very minute metal particle in the engine after the hard breaking in..even thou very small, in harsh/normal engine usage, these particle will act as abrasive paper/sand paper eating away at all the engine parts..

This running in at 1500km will be using mineral oil..at 500km interval. After that switch to fully synthetic n whack all u want..

one of the reason for breaking in is that it allows the piston rings to sit in well with the chamber so that no or little power loss is experienced.

Thanks a lot for the explanation.. Clear my doubts..

But haiz another 1300km to go..

normal for R6 to heat up to 100degree.

As in the menu,

40-116 degree, still ok to ride.

117-134 degree, warning light comes on, stop bike and allow to idle until temp goes down

above 135 degree, Stop the engine and allow it to cool.

If your temp never goes up to 117 degree, I think the coolant temp warning light will not turn on. It maybe by mistake that what you saw is the oil level warning light. Please double check again with your menu. Also dont forget to check whether you have enough coolant.

I did encounter the problem when the oil level warning light comes on. Just have to go top up a little engine oil.

Hi all. I have a question here. Nooby in R6. My 07 just got out and i noticed the gear shiftings is different, maybe ex rider changed it for track use. It changes gear on the "opposite" sides? I kick up for gear 1, and kick down to shift to high gears. Will the engine be damaged if i leave it like that? Any infos? Thanks all. :)o_O:faint:

hi guys, check with you all something.. i believe everyone knows that r6 2010 has a 10cm longer endcan to improve the mid-range power according to yamaha..

why is there a increase if its 10cm longer? shouldn't it be decrease due to the increase of weight? and what if you change to aftermarket exhausts? will it bring down the mid-range performance again?

noob question. sorry. just wondering..
