Hi,

I going on a holiday tomorrow for about 5 days and didn't like the idea of my bikes sitting in the carpark alone so I decided to wheel them into the lift and into my home. I am leaving them in an enclosed area and the fuel has not been drained but the petcock is off. Is this dangerous? Hope for some advice as my bikes are quite precious to me and they are small making them easy to steal.

Should be fine, it wouldn't catch fire it's like leaving them in a garage. Keep them out of sunlight if you want to play safe, but seriously unless you live in newer HDB flats where the lift stops on every floor, or you happen to live on the floor that the lift stops (6th or 11th) you are going to have a problem getting the bike up or down the stairs.

Last word of advice, take 1 bike at a time, check Max weight before going in, don't over load the lift, last thing you want is to be trap in the lift with 2 bikes.

And make sure you have someone to "See water" for you, making sure Town Council People not around. 1 Bike = $70 fine. 2 bikes = $140

Last time old house also got 1 malay uncle live on ground floor, every evening will push his bike up the ramp into his living room.

I think put the bikes in a spacious room and open the window just slightly so should there be petrol fumes, there will not be a build up.

Also might wan to lay the floor with cardboard or carpet so teh stand will not scratch the floor and should there be oil drip will not stain.

u take good care of your bike!! ups!! :)

Thanks for your advice bro, appreciate it. My lift stops at every floor thats why I can get the bikes in the lift.

Cheers!!

Bring 2 bikes in u're room...+ u living in hdb flat. Bro r u nuts? Suggest u get a padlock....a good canvas and cover it up snuggly and that's it...

Don't want ppl to snap a pic of u loading u're bike in the lift and send it to stomp for world wide view...

Covering it up with a canvas with a Pad lock is good enough.. Just ask ur family members to look out the window every morning will do.. Putting a bike in ur house may cause fire hazard.. IF a fire breakout, Ur neighbours may be in trouble also.. Think twice before u act.. Cheers..

suppose u ride a cub or equivalent?

Cant imagine how the lift would accommodate any bike the size of any cl2a or cl2 bikes..

Depending on your area, for mine, i ever left my bike uncovered for a month at e carpark. Would suggest u to temporarily park at some 'brighter' spot in the carpark. A lot which has lotsa people walking by is also good.

Give you a suggestion, find a office building carpark, which charge by entry not hours. So, you can park as long as you want, and have security looks after for you.
