Dear all GSR owners & fans,

currently i looking at gsr600 and fz6n

below are the comparision on both bikes.

anyone have the FC between this 2 bikes?

both are gd bikes....

Outlook...

GSR Gd riding posture (tink the FZ6 lose out on tis)

GSR has an inbuilt Gear indicator (FZ6 dun have)

GSR better out look (both are nice but GSR outshine by a bit more)

Performance wise (stock vs stock)

Pick up GSR is very gd!!!

top speed wise FZ6 is better!!!

but can be done by changing spockets lol

both are gd engine...

FZ6 is a R606 detune

GSR is a prototype of B king....

Resales value....

FZ6 win tis hands down....

regardless owner to owner or to shop....

Yamaha fetch better value always....

ps: personal pt of view .... pls dun quote mi....

Spare parts support....

FZ6 win

Cheaper spares always than suzuki...

& Suzuki agent Guan hoe kinda struck up....

Example: 1 of my ex colleague rode a gsr, he had a fell & had to replace the left pillion footrest bracket ....

Replacement cost $280 to $300+++

PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW!!!!!

Get the FZ6N ...

more accessories...

more value for $$$

Your point? Shouldn't the discussion be under Bike Specs & Review Thread????

Discussing it here will be too late for those bought the 600cc....hahhaaThe above does not proves anything anyway. Dun even know what you are trying to prove hahhah. Yes original sets are ex for Suzuki parts, its a well known fact. Anyway doesn't all original parts expensive regardless of their make? There are aftermarket alternatives. Correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway y didn't your friend approach a shop and ask for the parts? Its way cheaper coz shops getting stuff from agents at discounted price. Too late for that I guess. hahaha.

Some contradicting points are about the top speed. There are speedo errors present in both bikes. To really test it, use a GPS to log their top speed. Changing Sprockets will invite more speedo errors.

In the end go for what your guts tell. There is quite a big gap between the two bikes' prices.

Ohh ya forgot to add. Won't it be biased to ask people that loves Fz6 and to decide on that. To get better economy get a VStrom 650cc sure FC saves a lot hahah. Its true and proven.

Y get a 600 even? Mite as well go up to the litre series. More veriety. More aftermarket parts. More things to mess up. All i know is that my GSR600 does its job and it does it WELL. Put a fazer6 beside me anytime. Khehehe.. Mite i add mine is mostly stock. Just some cheap HOMEMADE mods.

Simple...coz his downgrading...hahaha

maybe he can consider more economical like bajar pulsar or S4 since economy and parts are plenty for these.

Congrats so you got ur bike yet?

Yep been riding for so many hours haha getting used to it. But kinda weird coz i never rode an FI bike before used to ride an S4. Whenever open tank cap theres like a *woosh* like pressure release is that normal? Also when riding got like woooghhhhh sound as i'm moving its from the tank area. Overall the bike is damn smoothe loving it. Got myself a pair of Yoshi systems too :)

Ehk??

Tot someone decided not to sell??

I'd love to sell my bike coz I'm just itchy-butt to get a tourer with boxes.

V-Strom maybe. Dinie's Wave 1100 also was enticing.

But I'm not dumb and desperate enough to sell it at a BIG loss, which is what shops are offering. So keep first for now.

If got good offer comes along, why not?

Just to clear up some myth I've encountered....

See response in yellow

Not really. Check the dyno figures properly.

but can be done by changing spockets lol

The difference will be like 1-2%, hardly noticeable as compared to perhaps investing in a PC3 or PCV?

both are gd engine...

FZ6 is a R606 detune

GSR is a prototype of B king....

Not just a prototype. With a race-proven, multiple championship-winning GSXR-600 engine, you can't go wrong. Reliable, easy to maintain and mod-able.

Resales value....

FZ6 win tis hands down....

regardless owner to owner or to shop....

Yamaha fetch better value always....

ps: personal pt of view .... pls dun quote mi....

Yes, this is one of the 2 strong point of FZ6. It has better resale value.

Spare parts support....

FZ6 win

Cheaper spares always than suzuki...

Erm, do check carefully. Suzuki insurance is the cheapest simply because spare parts are always and they cost the lowest compared to the other Big-4 Jap brands. This was communicated to me by an insurance agent himself.

& Suzuki agent Guan hoe kinda struck up....

Example: 1 of my ex colleague rode a gsr, he had a fell & had to replace the left pillion footrest bracket ....

Replacement cost $280 to $300+++

Ever asked how much it costs to get the same Yammy replacement part? And that you have to MAKE an appointment about 1 week in advance with Hong Leong, the Yammy agent to do even a simple oil change. I won't even start with the TPS sensor issue that has long bugged Yam models down even to their EFI-version X1-R that left a lot of R1 and Fazer owners disillusioned about Yamaha. Even after the recall and part replacement (which they had to pay labour charges oddly enough), fix is still not permanent. Why? Yamaha can't even design a simple rubber gasket to keep dirt out of the TPS sensor whilst other Big-4 Jap bikes have no such issues.

PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW!!!!!

Get the FZ6N ...

If you wanna go touring with good FC and good resale value, then yes, I agree. FZ6 tops that.

But if you want a reliable everyday bike that will carry you from Jurong to Tampines everyday without fail, allowing you to handle street traffic and wide expressway while providing that ability to burst and speed to your heart's content, then a GSR fills that niche nicely.

Oh and there are tonnes of accessories available for GSR as well. As much as FZ6 if not more.

But hey, I'm just a rambling old man.

Don't take it from me.

Take it from these guys:

Hi All,

Thanks for the information.

From this i believe in terms of power, handling, reliability, go for the gsr

for value and FC, go for the fazer.

each have its own characteristic.

Most often, it's up to the rider itself.

Thanks.

Many have installed. U can get it from Motoworld or Unique. Improvement is minimal as it is still restricted. Some other adjustments needs to be done. All in all, just set aside around 3k.

How well u maintain a bike determines how long it will last. Ride a super4 and forgot to change engine oil till 20,000km also will kill it. So does a suzuki. Both Honda and Suzuki are well known and very reputable companies. Engines are both trusted both each has its own characteristics. Honda being the silent and smooth type and Suzuki being the RAW and a good workhorse type. Depends on your liking. If u getting the GSR 09 400 version then kudos for u. Cos it definately has MORE horse power at stock.
