hows ur trip to Kota Tinggi?? u wanna go bike shop do ur fork?? update me beb, then can tag along with u..

It was ok... didnt travel fast... suprisingly empty roads.

Only jam when coming back...

Probably targeting either next week or after pay day then I do the forks...

Right now... always reporting work at 0630 prepare work and stuffs for the day...

so the need for the bike is there...

prob when the kids are having their exams next week then it would be a better time to not have the bike around...

unless everything can be done in the day...

which technically leaves me only the weekend.

Guys, anyone got lobangs for a 2nd hand Yoshi exhuast? i just went to MotoWorld 2 days ago and apparently.. japan is out of stock and is in the mid of stopping production for the exhuast due to the new 2010 GSR 400 model. according to MotoWorld.. there are some fine tune to the model which the current exhuast is not compatiable...

2010 GSR 400???

when is it coming to sg?? ****....shld haf waited for the new model!!! wasnt aware of it! n alamak there goes my yoshi dream for my GSR!!! Any bro out there knw where still got yoshi??? UM???

One last thing to note about HP cramp. It's the glare from sun light. Been using the GPS on hp during mid-day. The glare is so intense till I cannot see the screen. So for me, I did a few experiment to create "sun-visor" to deflect sun glare. So that is another project that potential HP cramp user can try. 1. Cardboard visor = fail. 2. Plastic visor taped with black tape = success.

Will post my HP cramp's pic when I get back home tonight.

bro... den got to try new HP.. Samsung Galaxy S

I am no longer using HP GPS. Currently using the Garmin Nuvi 500. More reliable and anti-sun glare. I love to explore remote parts of JB, so it's better for me to invest on a more reliable GPS. Furthermore battery can be charged on the go.

HP GPS drains battery very fast. Only suitable for short journey. I tried using my HP GPS for an hour plus charging on the go, the HP got extremely hot. In the end I found out that the battery lost it's charge memory(no matter how much I charge, it loses it's power). Got to replace a new battery. Luckily HP is not spoilt.

Jus contacted MotorWorld... its comfirmed.. japan not gonna produce anymore exhaust for our GSR400. they are awaiting for the new 2010 model to produce a new exhuast for it...

most likely have to settle with a LeoVince pipe then.....

Pity, was thinking of getting Titanium blue next year. Oh well!

Anyway, what Cyrix said is quite true. It is meant for bicycles but well suited to motorcycles too as bicycles will experience even more violent shocks and vibrations while on the trail. Either way, it'll serve well as a phone holder.

I slap on a piece of anti slip mat to increase grip upon the phone too. It would be better to remove the clamping mount entirely from the handlebar mount when it is raining as exposure to the rain, be it whether there is zip lock bag or not, might have a chance to damage any non-waterproof electronic devices.

In case of Cell based GPS, it would do good to rely more on the verbal instructions when it is raining as I believe any form of transparent cover will be fogged by the cold anyway.

Anyway, each will be at $7 and there will be a waiting period before the mounts will arrive.

Thanks Breadpower for the advice, was thinking of going over to Seng Kwang to have one custom fixed but $70 is quite a deterrent....yet. So might as well stick to the mirror mount 1st and pray that I will not be involve in any accident.

I guess its not necessary lah then. I use my tank bag instead for trips...

The trick is not to be involve in an accident.

Wah lau...lost a customer? heehhehe

One reason for me not using them is because of an advice from GPSCity.com.

"Important Note for Motorcycle Users: This base is not recommended for Motorcycles due to the heavy vibration".

Every plastic base, they put that warning. Anyway if it works for you, then keep on using them.

I have been using the HP cradle quite a number of times. Mostly short trips, but the longest trip is about 1 hour long where I stopped and check the phone to notice it is dangerously over heated. All I can say is that the HP cradle is quite solid and able to hold the hp in place. Vibration is minimal because the handle cramp comes with a layer of rubber(similar to bicycle tyre material). If vibration is too great, I dun think my HP will be surviving till now.

My advice is not to use tank bag because the angle you need to view the GPS is quite low and you need to tilt your head down. IMO, it is dangerous.

Like Lexanez said, if raining better not to use GPS on cradle. If it rains, I normally put it in my pocket and rely on the voice navigation via bluetooth to my wireless bluetooth headset.

Previously I'm using Sony Errisson + Garmin Bluetooth GPS receiver mounted on modified HP cradle which was actually for car.

Later changed my HP to Samsung Omnia mounted on bicycle HP cradle similar to the Lexanez's 2nd photo.

Now using Garmin Nuvi 500 mounted on Ram mount. I have lots of fun using it ever since. Able to explore remote parts of JB town ... get myself lost... then simply press the button home to make route back to checkpoiint. Best part is when reach home, can upload tracks on Mapsource software and laugh at myself for the paths that I have taken.

Nope, for Nuvi 500 there's no bluetooth. The interface is pretty easy to look at and it has a "Next Turn Indicator" which is a little arrow which indicate next turning and the distance in meter... Although it has a speaker at the back, but when travelling and listening to mp3, can hardly hear it. For bluetooth version, can get the Zumo 660. Nuvi 500 is cost at $599SGD, plus Ram mount and charging wires to connect direct to your bike battery. More info: http://gpsmagazine.com/2008/07/garmin_nuvi_500_review.php

Previously when I am using HP GPS, I connect via it bluetooth. 1. Simply acquire the statelite signal, 2. set and mark the route, 3. put in pocket and ride according to voice guided navigation. "In 100m keep left... turn right and keep left...etc." Sometimes if hear "Recalculating route..." then *alamak* got to slap my head because it indicate you have make the wrong turn.

Look nice but the screen is a bit small. I think it is more suitable for trekking, but I have seen some bike tourers using it. I think our fellow ex-GSRean Flareon is previously something similar to this.

Flareon one is without the Walkie Talkie module. Its pretty cool this one. Its like I got lost and and sync location. So I can say "Eh turn right and walk straight....u are almost at my location". Without the use of mobile phone.
