servicing should be no more than 40 bucks and should include a new sparkplug (try and get a B8ES, if not, say you don't want a new plug)...

Fuel line won't be more than 15...

Brake shoes shouldn't be more than ughhh somebody help him here... I don't want him getting ripped off again!!!

Sharpey> TA use to have the metal seal. but personal when i seen how badly a blown metal seal is u wouldnt want any og the metal to scratch ur crank case. but the rubber seal is more tolerable.

Ah Joo has done quite a bit of work on my bike and i don't think he over charge intentionally. He has on numerous times refused payment for cleaning up my carb, checking my 2T reservoir for leaks and countless free advice, most of these advice saves money...like when i first got my excel, i wanted so bad to mod and respray it but AJ told me the costs involved and i might as well spend the same kind of moolah to get the real thing...makes perfect sense to me.

I trust him and should he ever overcharges I will give him the benefit of doubt.

aha! finally, someone to ah joo's defence! i too trust ah joo quite a bit and i feel that he doesn't intentionally overcharge, especially to his regulars. perhaps on the rare occasion he might be pricier than his competitors, but you can say the same thing about other mechanics as well. some things ah joo is able to offer cheaply, some market rate, some a tad bit pricier. i like and trust ah joo so i rather let him earn rather than let some one else earn my money :cheeky:

Well I rather believe at times AJ charges a bit more for the time he spent troubleshooting. I'm sure when at times he under charge, the customer already knows the problem and it's a straight forward job for him. I'm not saying he charges by the hour for his services but if he's spent 2 hours or more on your scoot then let him have a wee bit more lah.

So is the next meet up confirmed at Mr.Prata on Friday? Love to see all the modified scoots.

yup i agree somewhat on the time issue. if your bike is problematic, then i think it's only fair to charge that bit more. other mechanics will do the same too i'm sure. anyway i think the meet up is dependent on the weather haha

Yeah..Cephelix don't pay extra for carb tuning... Ah Wee doesn't have the time to do it properly... you'll need to learn to do it yourself... ask him for tips on how to DIY

gweester - i have confirmed with ah joo that my bike is running on the 6V contact point instead of the 12V CDI you were telling me about. however, it's kinda pricey at $300+ to change from the 6V to CDI. ah joo was telling me my bike is fine and there's no need to spend that kind of money. the reason why i need so many kicks to get my bike started is because i kickstart it like every 1, 2 weeks and because the weather has been rainy and cold of late. oh well, anyway i left my bike at ah joo's for him to check throughly.

fluffpuff....the change from 6V contact pt to 12V CDI is indeed hefty....but it is definitely worth the investment if you intend to keep the bike long....

probably if you were change job or ride it more often, you might wanna consider...

cephelix,

Some things when it is due for a change or someone points it out when doing some checks on your scoots, better get it change before it breaks or die on you....like fuel hose this kinda things...get it change....dont think they cost a bomb....you dont wanna go thru what Sharpey has gone thru rite?

Ban Hoe Leong is located at jalan besar plaza (outside the shop there is a silver scooter).....just before LAB....rather near TA...
