Done my last servicing at Equipment Extreme and took up a package with them.

Package details as follows,

4 x Servicing @ $320 (Original @ $360)

1 x MOS2 Anti-Friction (Can use 5 times) @ $20

Each Servicing

1) 3 x Liqui Moly 10W-60

2) 1 x Oil Filter

3) 1/5 x MOS2 Anti-Friction

Total Damage per service @ $84

I've tried out Liqui Moly + MOS2 Anti-Friction during my last engine oil change and I'm fairly satisfied with it. Lasted me 5000km before I start feeling "tiny-bit" of difficulty in gear changing, reckon that it can last me another 500-1000km. But I just changed it since I was there to do up some other stuffs.

Any bros who wish to try out this formula can pm me.

I can share my package with you.

MOS2 = Molybdenum disulfide = clogged oil line and oil filter. Many of these products makes incredulous claims. Many have been sued by the US govt for these false claims. A good engine oil don't need these additives.

Here's an exerpt from on eof these pages

"Engine treatments that contain solid particles suspended in a carrier oil are classified as colloids. They are also known as solid-film lubricants. This category includes Teflon® or PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene-a plastic-like resin), molybdenum disulfide (commonly known as Moly) and graphite.

These products employ an entirely mechanical procedure known as burnishing to deposit solid particles onto metal surfaces. And since there are no chemical processes involved, this action is mostly uncontrolled and therefore unpredictable. Consequently, engineered tolerances may be affected. Also, solid particles can restrict the flow of oil through critical passages, galleries and the filter leading to costly repairs.

Remember, PTFE in oil additives is a suspended solid. Now think about why you have an oil filter on your engine. To remove suspended solids, right? Right. Therefore it would seem to follow that if your oil filter is doing its job, it will collect as much of the PTFE as possible, as quickly as possible. This can result in a clogged oil filter and decreased oil pressure throughout your engine.

In spite of the fact that PTFE-based engine treatments have been available for many years, even their manufacturers have yet to agree on basic issues such as how much PTFE should be added to an engine and how long a single treatment will last.

Therefore, in the absence of generally accepted standards, conclusive test results and even industry-wide support for these products, there is simply no reason to buy any conventional oil additive or engine treatment now that a truly superior alternative exists." Stupid me,

Finally check and realised that my lower chain slider has broken off while the top is still looking good.

This must have caused the chain slapping noise that I heard ever so often.

Replaced it and now ride is so quiet.

I just changed my chain and 2 sprockets last week.

Do they need time to break in?

Somethings that I had noticed after the change:

1) Chain noise is non existence under 50km/hr.

Anyway above that I can hear metal "brushing" sound.

Am using scottoiler and the chain is pretty much well lubricated.

2) engine braking sound at low speed has become louder.

3) sudden acceleration from 1st gear produce "tata" sound from the chain.

Chain tension is pretty tight.

Don't know is me or what? :(

Great ! lucky i didnt get my tire changed that day during my servicing if not i will be banging table now >.

I think HKL is quite well-known for their low prices in tyres...

I remembered when I changing to Z6 tyres for my ex-ride, the chief mechanic, Ah Keong, there doing the change for me, still dare to ask me to go around and ask other shops to see if I can find tyres cheaper than HKL... :)

But in the end, I didn't really bother to go search all the shops to find out if HKL really offers the best prices for tyres.

Maybe there are really other shops offering cheaper tyres. :)

Cheers.

BTW, I am using Diablo now. When I bought the bike last May, the bike shop changed to a new pair of Diablo for me.

Anyone has any comments on this tyres? Good, not good?? All comments and advices welcome.

Or Pilot Road 2 better? Or BT021 better? Z6??

I have used BT021 on my ex-ride (Fabulous-Joy-Ride) before. Quite good. I can "cup" corner quite confidently on this tyres.

So, right now, I am starting to think of what tyres to change when my Diablo "finishes".

Should I still stay with Diablo? Or Diablo is not as good as PR2, BT021, etc...?

Think there were some discussions before, on tyres, but no time to back-track slowly to search for that thread.

Hope to hear some advices from the seniors here.

Thank you. :)

All are welcome to our forum! We just want to get to know one another better and ride more! Nt limited to bikes models only,as most of us have move on to other bikes but still meet weekly,daily...

We actually started the forum in 2004 but due to forget renew the domain.it was brought by another company.

This is our new website link.

http://sgfazer.proboards.com/index.cgi

The manufacturing date was late 2008,50 weeks...Unique ran out of stocks but went HKL to take some..

Yeah HKL famous for their best priced tyres !

Hopefully by then they still have stock left man

HKL is not so into customers services now a days.

I remembered we had a MO in 2007 and he gives us the best prices you can never find.

Now,he just brushes us away and told us to go Unique or MW instead...

Showroom shelf life is approximately 2 years.

2 only??!!

That means I've been using tyres that exceeded it's shelf life... All along I thought it was 3 yrs or something.

Does shelf life includes the period of time that u're using it?

normal wear and tear for a 100,000km+ bike.

its getting more and more expensive and demoralizing to upkeep this bike which seems to be disintegrating. especially with the electrical problems. :(
