Agree with you. Silver safe colour but can be dull very easily. Black is really nice but all black vehicle got same problem, dirt and waves very easily seen, so must upkeep constantly to keep it shiny and attractive. Not a problem for me as I spend more time cleaning my bike and maintaining then riding it.

Looks like currently tri-colour only available from parallel importers. I did see a 600 with tri colour in Boon Siew. Have to check it out again when I return...now just dreaming.

Have you gone on long rides like into Malaysia before? I have never ridden an S4 before so wondering how comfortable the riding posture is (I have been riding cruisers).

Anyone went to Boon Siew open house?

haha u wanna polish my bike for me? :cheeky:

nah didn't go open house today

long dist ride to malaysia? hmm not really lah pump petrol got a couple of times

position is comfy

ok, I think I am convinced. Will head down to Boon Siew at my first opportunity. You can count me as new member then.

Biggest problem I find about this bike from reading the forums is that thieves like to steal parts from it.I think the best way to deal with these is to deal with the buyers /sellers of 2nd hand parts, ie never buy second hand parts no matter how cheap and be suspicious of cheap new parts. To borrow a phrase from the WWF, "if the buying stops, the stealing can".

Actually, I have been watching the S4's for awhile and have always liked the engine setup especially. Always like the four-in-line with 4 carbs and this one so advanced yet have appeal like from my time one,(uncle remember?) a little classic and retro look. However for some reason I always felt something missing until the Bol'Dor entered, then I instantly fell in love and knew she was the one.

I did not know it's on the road already cos never seen even though I seen the picture on honda website last year. At Boon Siew last week was first time I saw the real thing, and am told by sales person there that most people still prefer the standard Spec 3. I guess "to each his/her own" right, but what cannot be denied is the Super Four whatever series and model is a great bike.

I just waiting to come back and hopefully Boon Siew got good deal for season and make my dream sweeter.

For those who love the freedom of riding, the passion glows and burns and never dies, even when you become uncle/auntie like me. I thought I'll hang up my riding boots a few times but never last more than six months.

Sorry, I was in Vancouver and just touched down an hour ago. Looks like my visit to Boon Siew has to wait as I have to leave for Malaysia in awhile. Wish I can ride back but that has to wait.

Wah you hells angels ah?? If ever I see a lass on a black Bol'Dor I better siam!Nowadays I kiasi a little la.

Actually, I have been wandering what is the top speed of the S4 Spec 3,does anybody know?. The advertising material conveniently left it out so gues have to depend on all the dare devils to testify with their own experiences. If at 247kph RPM only 6k, it imples that the bike can go much more as the other two valves (in each cylinder)still have not open yet, interesting huh.

Well I'm off now, happy riding and hang on tight! Good night.

Eh, no worries la. Am glad a little now cos at least I need not be worried of you on the road, otherwise I will look like this:giddy:

Actually it's my misunderstanding and I did not understand your terminology when you said "recently still hanging on 2 bars at 247km hehe by keeping rpm below 6 "

Never mind la, joke now and then never hurt anyone.

hahaha.. when i first read it already 'noticed' the 'misunderstanding' no way S4 can go 247km/h.... maybe possible if CB1300 ... :cheeky:

anyway, from the machine point of view, there is alot that can be done to obtain a better FC... basic things like:

1. tyre pressure; ensure it is not under inflated to reduce drag,

2. spark plugs; for normal plugs, change every 8,000 - 10,000km, inbetween, cleaning of the plugs will be recommended,

3. EO; depending on what EO, fully syn maybe 5,000km, etc.

4. Air, oil filter; some aftermarket filters are known for better performance,

5. clean engine; do pump 'quality' petrol once a while to clean up, dirty engine leads to poorer performance,

6. electrical grounding; better and more stable firing of spark plugs.

7. etc, etc...

when i first got my spec III, the FC also quite bad; almost 300km before reserve signal blinks... for now, gotten slightly more than 10% gain to 340km...

Hi all,

Thanks Kennthy for your pointers. Was told by the Boon Siew guy that his Spec 3 customers very happy with fuel consumption and all cos better than previous versions. I guess apart from all that you mentiond, riding conditions and riding habits also plays a part in better mileage.

lass,

don't put yourself down. Unfortunately the most economical method of riding s also the most boring. That defeats the purpose of riding as riding is suppose to be enjoyed.

also if your riding is mainly stop-go as in city traffic instead of crising on the highway, your fc will definitely be higher.

enjoy your ride safely.

dunno if spec III have better fc over the rest of the version... but i think S4 give reasonably good fc on sg road...

if on NSHW then S4 dun fair so well... ever get 14km/litre while going on average speed of 160km/h...

overall, still very satisfy with my S4 since more then 90% of my riding is in SG city condition (start-stops)...

It's a balance I guess. To get a good fc you need to cruise at a reasonable speed while maintaining the lowest rpm. Once you pass this speed, the fuel consumption per km/h increases drastically...but the shiok factor also increases in tandem.

So have to pay to enjoy lor.

So envious of you, I really do miss riding and feeling the freedom. Was on my way to Boon Siew this evening when I met a terrible jam along PIE so had to belakang pusing. Looks like it's the 2006 model for me.

Will be away again tomorrow onwards so just wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. While you celebrate remember... bottle and throttle don't mix...ride safely.

i finished running in by 9 days cos we delibrately took the bike for errands and taking a longer route. just tried a bit of a higher speed abt 160 in JB over the wkend, feels v stable no major vibration felt (perhaps i was too thrilled abt the new power) to notice otherwise. my buddy said that her fairing vibration sound is quite loud. she had her bike abt a mth b4 me.

planning to change the balancer the ones fr motovation, more ex though but i hv seen it on my friend's bike so i may get that one. hopefully this could compensate a lil bit more for the longer mirrors which at times can b a headache during traffic jam, either i hv to stay in lane or block other bikes trying to squeeze.

quizesilver haha yeah rite! 1 round in the carpark can keke

bktan keke thks. my hubby saw my tuono on the rd a few mths back but i hv yet to c it....sigh i do miss that bike's exotic look but certainly not the handling keke

sorry i am a newB for s4 specIII, i wonder how come u can run in ur bike in just 9days? how we should run in the bike can teach me?
