Scoopz, formerly known as Springdear, has been doing big business since 1999.

 

It underwent a name change this year as owner Alex Chua wanted a friendlier name for the shop.

 

Before setting up his own shop in 1999, he ran a homemade ice cream franchise for two years. It has since folded.

 

He does not use an ice cream maker, referring to make the ice cream by hand. Handmade ice cream has less air compared to those made by a machine, he says.

 

The ice cream is placed on a 'coldplate' and hand mixed until it hardens. It takes about 20 minutes to make 1.2 litres of ice cream.

 

Mr Chua says: 'Our ice cream is more dense and does not melt as fast, so you can enjoy it longer.'

 

Scoopz's bestseller is durian, followed by chempedak and rum and raisin.

 

Each scoop sells for $2.80 and takeaway tubs cost $11.20 each.

About Icekimo: Icekimo, an ice cream cafe, opened our doors on 2 July 2005. All our ice cream are homemade. We make them as and when they are running low to ensure quality and freshness. As we make our own ice cream, our ice cream contains reduced sugar and reduced fats. We also use natural fruits for our fruitty ice cream such as mango, durian, chempedak, strawberry, etc. Other flavours include local ones like horlicks, milo, bandung, teh tarik and other flavours like belgium chocolcate, vanilla, rum & raisins, cookies n choco, vanilla and coffee.

 

We serve up to 14 flavours in a day and also try to introduce new flavours every month. We serve our ice cream in cups, homemade waffle cones or homemade waffle baskets.

 

We offer other items such as homemade waffles, brownies, ice cream sundae, banana split, ice cream fondue and hot/cold beverages. We hope to introduce more new items in the coming months.

mai ar neh kuan lah. i know the cb feeling and lj mood that you're having right now but what has happened has happened. you need to keep yourself occupied to prevent yourself from thinking about the knnbccb event. you should come out and eat ice cream with us. ice cream is sweet and sweet things makes people happy.
