this kind of problem best u dun anyhow change at shop 1st - they will happily quote u must change the whole FI system

instead if u see other wave i owners on the road u cn try asking them whether they haf found other solution or mechanic to fix their problem and post ur finding here.

I got my license and decided to get a wave-I from Mah Motors. But then after i read about the power cut i was a little swayed by this. I am going to put my money down for the bike this coming weds. I not a fast rider as i believe "Ride safe, live longer". But then should be ok right? about eh power cut thing?

Got my wave i problem solve by changing the whole FI unit at De Xing. It will set you back at $265 but I think it is worth it.

 

The people at De Xing is quite efficient. I reach there at 10am, the tried to identify the cause by changing some part. After identifying that the problem lies in the FI they order the FI unit and brought it back, fix it and everything is done by 12pm.

 

So if anyone has problem similar to mine can just change the FI.

Hmm, if the power cut is after 110 ~ 120km then i think should be able to buy le. Cos don't think will be wacking much to that speed. I like that bike cos of the fuel which cost a bomb these days. =)

the FI unit doesnt cost more than 100 at the shop at jalan besar plaza - will go and check for us next week perhaps

 

its not that they are efficient , if someone come to me to change the Fi i will also chop-chop go and install for the person and charge him $265. should haf done ur home work 1st.

 

anw good for u for haveing the prob solved. do take note of the usage ok since i heard that some ppl say it will be a matter of time b4 the FI cocks up again.. if u use for 20k already still good then i think i will also change the FI

anw anyone knows where can service fuel injectors good and cheap?

and any one know any shop that can change the setting for fuel injection to optimal setting? got such thing?

any waveI riders ever tried to put mod a larger internal tank?? heard that its possible for wave s and r... how abt waveI?

 

whoa imagine a waveI with an 8l tank... 500k per tank easily??

i think can but doing so almost costs ard $200 or more, u can read the thread abt the guy who mod his wave at Kranji ah kok muffler shop

been to that thread and read it up... but it is sort of hanging in thin air... the guy who actually did the internal tank didnt post the results...

 

and somemore, considering waveI's power fuel economy, with the extended tank, one trip to jb cud last u for a whole week or more!!

 

wow... time save, money save...

 

what i wanted to know is does the waveI have the U-box under the seat that is supposedly required to put the modded tank in... is it posible to mod waveI's tank??

wave i also has the U-box compartment. i think also can modify la cos from wat i understand the ahkok muffler guy will cut the tank and weld more pieces to it to make it larger.

 

what im puzzled is that how will we reach the battery compartment once the U box compartment is gone?

btw went to Dexing @ubi rd 1 tt day and i saw K & N Fuel Injection Kit - not so sure what the heck is that but was wondering whether it can be used to replace the wave - i' s fuel injector. also I forgot to ask the price cos was bz talking to the person of the shop abt something else. any of u guys going there can ask?

my friend's dad got a 2nd hand wave, onli to find out it's a EFI after he bought it.

recently, the FI indicator lights up.

any EFI wave owners care to share where u guys service yr waves?

prefer local bikeshops instead of Malaysia's.

servicing is just like normal wave change engine oil and spark plug but service carb that one cannot cos wave i dun haf carb one. the fuel injector i think needs to be serviced but personally i havent done that yet. will share any more info once i do it.

why not just buy a carb model and save the headache...

i hav a fy plate wave i, for servicing just normal change e.o and spark plug can do at jb if u want. for servicing of the fuel injector nvr try b4. i know conferm jb dun do one, must find one of those more establised bike shops tt can service fuel injectors i guess (but i havent went abt doin also)
