i notice my rear wheel not turning smoothly s i rotate it. i suspect is the ball bearing.

 

M i right?

two possiblity

 

1. rim crooked

2. bearing worn out

 

if rim crook, I saw in Jb an indian guy shop, he can heat up that crooked area and reallign again.

 

if bearing then it is simple - change to NTN or SKF or Koyo brand bearing which is both sided of bearing are covered.

 

JB cheaper.

 

Once in spore i changed for front tyre and it cost double the price of JB.

 

To test the bearing worn out. Shake the tyre left right and notice if there is free play.

i let u people know

 

please avoid those 30 shops at bapok lane which operates 24 hours.

 

i have never let anyone touch my bike there unless those emergency like tyre punctures cases. If possible stick to indian shops. At least u can bargain for mercy.

 

well, JB has hundred of bike shops everywhere.

 

I wonder why can't singaporeans go to JB on saturday morning and service bikes at normal shops around johor bahru ...like skudai, Uda, tun aminah, cempaka, perling, molek, johor jaya, southern, kangkar tebrau and many other places.

 

just simply avoid those bapuk lane.

be careful : bike yamaha spark z / x / jupiter / jupiter z/ lagenda / lagenda z / lagenda zr / all has many changes in exterior and some in interior.

 

for exhaust pipe it has been changed almost 2 times. So u must buy for the latest version produced because the latest one was rectified and had no pop sound which was a complaint by many in year 2004.

 

if i were you, i will call singapore and Jb numbers and see the price different. TAKE NOTE SOMETIMES THINGS IN MALAYSIA IS EXPENSIVE THEN SINGAPORE although after currency conversion. Also make sure u have the spare part catalogue book in ur hand so that u can quote the part number to ease all. Otherwise email me and I will send u the part number book in pdf format.

 

i buy clutch lining and clutch plates in singapore cause cheaper. I bought them in lavendar street after calling and checking availability.

 

also in serangoon road , i buy precision tools, like pilot jet and needles inside carburator cause cheaper then Malaysia.

 

so since u are lucky to have all the contact list as my previous messages, also u can email hong leong spore and hong leong msia for stocks available ...both email listed in my previous message.

 

Then u start to buy and then bring to any shop and pay labour RM10 if easy task for fixing.

 

for my case, since i have four mechanics for myself......one is Perling and another in Jalan Tasik , kangkar tebrau and in UDA.

 

also guys this is my tips

 

spore and msia when buy parts please bargain. Example: Msia sell original holograph seal of genuine parts of yamaha air filter at RM18 and u bargain to get Rm16. And if u doubt of any parts just email to hong leong and ask for the correctness if u suspect of fraugery.

 

also make sure u have more then 2 mechanics in hand at other locations.

 

If u only go to one shop all the time then u become a slave and shop owner be master and one day they know u will only service at their place and they can cut throat u. This is problem with human pride.

 

One more thing, for sprocket and chain drive set, get it directly from the manufacturer of RKM.

Example, I use RK set and directly ordered from the manufacturer in Penang via email corespondence.

He also allows me to customise the front and rear sprocket sizes. Then he sent to his dealer in Tun Aminah. I collect and fix for Rm10 labour at my mechanic. For your info, I using RKM set for more then 19,000km and HAD NEVER ONCE TIGHTEN. IT IS PERFECTLY RUNNING. It also can run for another 12,000km. Last week, I sent email to manufacturer and asked for customizd for top speed. front = 15T and rear 34T with RK chain.

also I WARN ALL, things like fake counterfeit items like SSS chain, NGK plug, RK , bike seat, air filter, etc are many in spore and msia. So be careful. In order to get the original items u must know who has the items.

 

 

For headlights, use OSRAM halagen ...is the best RM10 per piece. SUPERB, SPLENDID. I just fixed. I attached the picture of genuine halagraph item.

don't worry

 

Koyo brand is good but NTN is really the best or SKF bearings

 

anyway, koyo can last for years as long u don't buang wheel in holes.

 

guys,

 

for wheel bearings make sure u get the bearing has closed covered both sides and bearings not exposed types.

5. stop at the traffic. Now TURN RIGHT.

6. this one road heading to pelangi mall.

7. go slowly ....keep left also.

8. before the BHP petrol kiosk. See left. One orange sign board shop. First shop. Corner shop.

Last week my bike sparkz cannot start. No reason and i tried for many days but still cannot start. At last i sent for repair nearby my place and mechanic said no compression. He open up the engine. piston and ring still ok. valve got very small hole and leak oil. He shake the conrod and said this is a crankshaft problem.

 

Today i can collect my bike. I will test out to see if it is ok. Before my sparkz cannot start, here are some symptoms

 

1) Bike difficult to start sometimes after 1 or 2 days of not using

2) Bike die easily when idling at traffic junction

3) Bike eats engine oil

4) Bike cannot go 100km/h and can go at 80km/h

5) Bike got wierd sound when throttle stationary. Like very heavy sound.

 

Just to share this with sparkz riders

anyway, I have this sympotms and did overhaul.

 

Yamaha spark is famous for weak crankshaft bearing.

 

I did overhaul in 67,000km
