Hi guys,

I got a question to ask. If I throttle and the voltage for charging went up to 14.7 volt. Is it normal?

It's normal for the charging voltage to be in the 14.x Volts when the engine is running. You'll be worried if it doesn't.

Huh. Then i heard that the normal voltage is at 14.2. But then if 14.7, It will be too high. Now I am wondering why is it that I can't start my bike when the battery keep discharging so fast!

Uncle more free :)

I feel yours is because not enough charging due to short trips. Maybe have a switch to off the 2 main headlights as they consume 110W total which is about 10A.

Most of the shops could do that. The place u bought the voltmeter does not do installation?

There seems to be a premature breakdown of the batt, rectifier and magnetic coil. My experience.

u should get them checked since u already change the batt.

Hi,

I bought the a second-hand nouvo 2 years back. Its a 1 year scooter. So after i bought it, for the first few months not much of the problem. This bike had the issue when i parked the bike for few days nv use, electric start cannot start the bike. Must use kick start. Battery also became flat. Then came the head lighting spoil, after which the belting also spoilt (due to automatic bike issue). Next, the bearing alignment also spoilt. Then after that, the best one, now cannot electric start totally. Must go to repair the bike. These are my comments for those who wants to buy this bike. For those having this bike, kindly leave any comments.

Hi Lindyy,

Brand new dunlop tyres cost around $80 - $90 from wing yap if i nv rem wrongly. I suggest u don buy cheap ones( $50.00) cos i bought it and regret. After 1 - 2 months where i seldom ride (the tyre is already at 50 percent usage. I would recommended u buy dunlop tyres although its double the price. Worth the price.

Hi guys,

That is the reason why I installed a voltmeter to monitor the voltage of my battery. As long as there is battery, there is no problem with electric start and kick start. The reason why Lindyy is not able to electric start is because the voltage of battery go slightly lower than the normal voltage.

Stock tyres is definitely much slippery than the Dunlop TT900. I also slipped and fall many times and I have been complaining in this forum about me slipping while doing U-turn and so on. After changing the stock tyres, I can ride better and more confidence.

yup, that applies to all bike i guess, somemore my bike only got elec start, very dangerous if my batt go flat..

The stock tires really are of the worst quality, best to change to dunlop, battlex or michelin... Slipping is serious not a very pleasant experience :(

the ones that paid $180-$200 are Dunlops TT900 (Made in JAPAN).

$50 per tyre are also Dunlops TT900 BUT (Made in Thailand).

Difference - The JAPAN model are better constructed. more stable and more grippy. but the rear tyres last around 4000-5000km of usage bcos its actually a front wheel tyre.

The THAI model last a bit longer i think. I just changed to the THAI model. previously using the JAPAN model. not stable at high speed. 100km/h the front end has a slight sway.

Hi Lindyy, I think we should have a meetup with the rest and then from there we can compare. Maybe u can suggest a venue for the meetup...
