it'll be someone who is rather experienced in fixing mods in phantom motherland...

Just as i'd completed my mods... :sian:

what's the difference when a ta 200 is fitted with the new custom 4 handlebar?

does it make steering more difficult?

Hoi Hoi Bro,

Im using a wide handle bar recommended by Ah Koon.

At very first few days it might have some angle balance to turn more...

What you can do is half clutch balancing would do pretty well for the balancing

Once you get used to it, you will love it everyday like I do.... ahhahahahaz

how much you get that fixed?

If im not wrong, it's 39 bucks.

It'll feel different and will take a while to get used to, but it wont take as long as if you decide for wide bars - and i mean wide, as in not-stock.

ur handle looks really nice Yas...

can u manage to squeeze thru traffic ? or how bout U-turn or conoring ?

Thanks Kaung :)

Cornering - Syiok man. Lean back. Must practice.

U-turning - Same old, but only after getting used to it. Pullbacks might hit your thigh, so must manage your peng and handlebar turns.

Squeezing through - Told myself to invest in comfort (besides to boost my mods aesthetically) since im not going to regular the CTE to Outram daily anymore, which i've been doing previously and everytime jam (also why i fixed them bars only recently). Squeezing ability is surely affected big time, but consider planning alternative routes / timings to avoid jams or be patient lah.

The relaxed riding posture also makes it easy for my gf to hug me so its a brilliant investment HAHA.

I believe all TA200 is the same, except C4 does not have Reserve option at the fuel pet c0ck.

I'll volunteer to let you sample my bike for references, ANY OTHER TAKERS AS WELL??

Think we need a TA150 & a C4 too...

this ain't directly accessory or mod related but i didn't wanna start another thread. i still like my phantom (though not as nice as a certain forumer's bike) however due to a tour of duty of 6 months, i have to face the following scenario: either to sell the phantom & get another one when i return -OR- keep the phantom for 6 months and pray that it still works after i come back. any advice?

if u stop bike for 6 month is not good for bike i guess, rust will eat up, battery go flat, dont know any prankster can do what... may be pass it to ur close friend to warm up, or let him ride for 6 month. just a thought..!

keep the bike if you really want to keep it. i also 6mths away from home. ask your parents to maintain the bike for you.

maintenance checklist:

-fill up the fuel tank to prevent rust before you go

-start the bike once/twice weekly to warm up say 10-15 mins

-cover it up to from rain (optional)

-check lubricating oil sump tank level monthly and top it up if necessary

-check fuel tank level monthly and top up regularly to prevent rusting

-over a time, bike might have difficulty starting. due to two reasons. first, it's worn out spark plug. second weak battery. weak battery is know by weak starting of cranking the crankshaft, hear the starter sound, you will know. mostly it will be due to weak battery.

-personal experience: battery was weak and charged twice, spark plug change once, when i was away.

others:

-if your road tax + inspection + insurance have not expire within this period of 6 mths, you might not need to lay it up. if it expires, lay up is advisable as they it is an offence not to get bike inspected.

Fleaz. I'd suggest disattaching the battery from the cables to prevent it from becoming weak. Covering your bike is a MUST if you love your bike.

I was away from riding for about 3 months, started it only once within the first 2 weeks of that period (thanks, valarie). It still worked perfectly after that, just needed a slight tightening of the chain.

Hide, thanks for sharing the idea of rdtax and insurance. Totally forgot about how it should matter.
