For me, i think is to go for what i like. Dont take up the bike u dont like because of saving money. Think u will get sick of it. Just my 2 cents:thumb:

x9. no point getting a bike that you will struggle to upkeep or cannot afford (including monthly installments, regular servicing, insurance, etc). or else, 6 months later, garage sales section will be your best friend.

toss a coin, 1 side for X9, 1 side for s4

toss it 3 times. any choice more then 2 times means u're fated to get it.

I was in the same position 3 weeks back...

So what I did was to try out both bikes from some sellers to see which is more comfy to ride and better to handle for you personally.

I also considered my needs of storage, power during overtaking along highway and resale value (which dictates the depreciation per year). I can afford the x9 no prob and the S4 is just manageable.

For your case, I feel budget is important to consider. Always buy something that will not affect your lifestyle "much" after that. However, you need to ask yourself which bike do you really like, no point after getting one, you keep thinking of the other. If you like the S4, maybe you can save up more first and at the meantime negotiate with your dad a new deal.

All the Bless bro!

Maintenance for X9 NOT cheap hor.

Full Service about $200 lor. (Belt, Engine Oil, Roller, U-clip, Oil Filter and plug only) .... still got air filter, brake pads ...

Kaoz i can't remember how much i change during my 12 months with my X9 ... Comfort is a BIG yes with this bike. But expenses from the maintenance is a HUGE turn-off for me

Oh yah ... Clutch $200++ , variator .... all the things

It's(X9) a rich man's toy. Batt flat sure tow-truck one. S4 still can push start.

If you are buying a bike for convenience and transport, I suggest you get something that is most affordable for you (in this case, the X9 since your dad sponsor half).

But if you are buying a bike cuz its your passion/interest and you ride because you love to ride, then I suggest you get something you like (in this case, I'm not sure if its a super4 cuz you never state whether you like it more).

Buy something you don't like, and purely because its cheaper will cause you regret in the future. You will dread the instalment date, and when the bike breaks down, you will hate it more. I bought something I liked and although sometime have to save a bit, but end of the day I'm happy cuz I get to ride what I love to ride....

U can also consider silver wing or burgman. I own a X9 FT plate 2years back. Sad to said it spoil quite easily & the parts is not that cheap.

I totally agree with u bro. My X9 Evo was my fourth bike & it was the most "leceh" one to maintain. I rode that bike for 2 years before I decided to sell it off due to the maintenance cost & my ever rectifier problem which causes my flat battery most of the time. Do u know that every morning whenever I walked up to my bike, I feared of the fact that my bike would not start? I was late a few times in the morning because of that bike.

That was the downside of it...

The up side however was that I had an excellent storage for my notebook, our groceries whenever we did our Saturday shoppings & my 2 helmets. Plus the pillion position was excellent for my wife who was asleep most of the time whenever she was with me.

I had a thorough discussion with my wife to sell off that bike as my wife loved it very much.

It's an excellent scooter with a good storage but there are simply a lot of factors which can be solved if I'm earning a 5K pay...

Ride safe everyone!!!

If your latest plan seems absent of me... There is nothing I can do...

Sold my X9 liao. But my love for scooter is still strong, so end up getting an SW rather than a S4 and have not regard since then.

Get a japanese bike, more reliable and less headache.
