hi 2_wheeler,

I hear NTUC is accepting S4 again. Can you kindly confirm if this is the case?

Also, first 1st party, what is the excess?

Thank you in advance...

we have started to accepting S4 since MAY 2005.

there was no problem even if we still declined S4, as I was still able to get the insurance for them.

Hi 2 wheeler, having some doubts with insurance on NTUC side.

I used the quotation form online for NTUC to do a quote for my new insurance for it. To my horror it came out $700+ for it for a 3rd party only!

I am 21, Probation period over, Riding a Phantom 200. No NCD . No Claims history.

However I got a quote from Mitsui, its only $310.

Just trying to clear my doubts on the huge price range for insurance..

Kindly advise!

it is not when you get into an accident.... it's when there is a claim on your insurance policy.

if you can claim on your own policy it's either own damage, Fire or Theft.

own damage - there is an excess

Fire & Theft - some has excess

3rd party (meaning those who claim from your policy) - some has excess

I believe the loading is due to a claim you made on your previous year...

When you made a claim, you not only lost your NCD, there might also be a loading factor on you since you are considered the 'higher risk' riders.

please correct me if the understanding is incorrect.

dun think so, cos NCD can be carried over.

say if I have 10% this year and I decided to change insurance company or change bike, I can bring it over to the new insurance company / bike...

fellow bikers, do correct me if otherwise. thanks...

Just call them and ask, then they will ask you for particulars and give you a quote

you will know the premium a month before the expiry of you insurance. you'll not get the correct premium now as the premium could be different when you renew.
