We all love cruisers here..that is a fact...others love sports bikes and others love off road; i believe that there are some traits in the personality of each individual which affects his choice. IMHO cruiser riders are more relaxed or need to relax and love to enjoy the feeling of the real freedom in a comfort, relaxed setting; i think this is logical enough to love cruisers "for me atleast"

what do u guys think of the personality traits that might affect the decision of choosing a specific bike type especially cruisers?

If u ask me, I think a biker's personality will change over time. It's often human nature to itch for something you don't have, unless you can control your desires very well.

For instance, I used to like cruisers. Then I wanted something a little more edgy and went for a sportbike. But after a while, I wanted to kick back a little and changed back to a cruiser. I dunno, that's just me.

i wont say that it's the rider's personality that changes with time, and changes bike in the meanwhile.

it's more like that biker's personality makes him change his taste and feel for bikes.

For me I wan something that's twist n go, yet can roar when i wan it...

That's why I got two.

Back to the OP's question...

At any point of time, a cruiser rider definitely has a different attitude compared to other riders. No coincidence why all the US bikefests like daytona bike week, sturgis and such are overwhelmed by cruiser bikers.

'We' all love cruisers but it is always a disappointment as a matter of fact when come to meet ups or gatherings. It seems to be passive practically as compared to the number participations and keen interest in this forum. Where are all those passionate cruisers or are we born to ride alone here in Singapore forever while all those other types of bikers ride together occasionally leaving us just looking at them.

So the "cruiser" mentality is really a very American one. You could say it's kind of an escapist mentality. We are escaping from reality. Sigh...

Actually when I read the last question, I thought you mean if one who ride with apehangers think that they're high and mighty or one who ride with wide beach bars are broad minded?

I still dunno the answer why I ride with wide beach bars other than I saw it on movie and I thought that it looked nice 'cos the rider's shoulders are very broad and obviously they suit.
