hi, newbie here, just got my class 2B one week ago. I am v new to bike.

Intending to get a 2nd hand cruiser aft CNY, comparing between a phatom TA200 and daystar 125 or 150(am I correct?).

which 1 is better? daystar definitely got better looks, but practical wise, I will go for phatom.

Parts are cheap for phantom. But both are equally nice.

There have been threads on this. You can do a search to find them.

But personally i feel that both are good. It depends on what you looking for. They both have thier pros and cons. Phantom has got more power, higher cc, both 2stroke and four stroke versions whereas daystar looks larger and nicer with the large fuel tank. Daystar without mods already looks large but phantom without mods looks small and very common. But phantom mods are easier to find compared to daystar mods.Maintenance wise both should be about the same. Just my two cents worth

Thanx, I would say that inside this forum really got alot of informations, I took quite some time to browse thru, like 1 to 2hrs isnt enough for a newbie like me. :giddy:

I try my friend's phantom,150cc, like abit heavy on the back, still not used to it.

former daystar 125 owner here.

i chose daystar initially as the bike is larger, more stable at all speed and more comfortable for rider (only).

but after a while, u get sicked of the speed and power, cannot be compared to phamtom and the engine noise. daystar is a buzzing sound while phantom is more brassy.

if i were to choose, it will be daystar for me lah. haha..more comfortable, that is if u dun mind the weaker engine power.

if you do decide to get a phantom, my 2cts worth of advice that may save u 2000 is.

if you choose to buy from motordiam

1. insist on warranty preferable 2 months, then ram the bugger from Pasir Ris to woodlands everyday. Joyride also can, just ram it. Unless the price is abt 1.5k, then screw the warranty.

2. get an experienced friend to look look with you.

3. watch out for white smoke. (expensive)

4. if you can, test ride thru all the gears.

if you get from forums

probably u can test ride it, listen to all the gears, phantom piston/gears Chui, is damn common these days for some reason. Even the motordiam commented "wah, phantom want to chui, all chui together.... 1 day can have 5 come in that need overhaul"

from a phantom rider that overhauled almost 1k worth of parts, with a couple of friends that are gonna pay thru their nose as well.

for Personal preferences, i would go for Honda Phamton..

better re-sale value than daystar..

honda is more reliable.. daystar is made in korea.. i ride daelim bike before, dint have very good experience with it ... =)

being a phantom rider myself  , i recommend phantom (TA200) =)

good pick up, smooth acceleration, easy-to-maintain, easy to modify and most importantly, quite low fuel consumption as compared to most 200cc bikes..

ex daelim rider...

daystar must stress the engine then can reach 100km/hr, howver for me i am okie as i rarely speed. The maintenance cost and FC is abt the same for both phantom and daystar, it is the looks and performance that differ. My advise is chose phantom and then go and modify the parts,

this guys got a lot of parts for sales, for a 1k budget u can change exhaust gas tank, and fender...

daystar.... look better..... there are already a million phantoms in spore. :giddy:

Phantom has a sleek design compared to a Daystar. The tank looks abit square from the top, but i like the front wheel design of daystar. I noticed that daystar usually refrain from 1st lane in the Expressway except some modded ones buzzing pass...:)
