Hi all S4 Bro ...

As promise to post up picture of the way of how i install my new pair of brake calipers.. Click on the link below to view ...

As you can see, there are 2screw securing my brake caliper to the fork.. The below screw is the normal/orginial of screwing in the bolt but the upper one is different ... U notice that the screw is different .. The mechanic take out my whole front tyre and find a longer screw and a nut (cannot use back orginial one cos too short liao).

Then he screw in the screw from inside and tighten using the nut... Den put back the tyre.. In this way, if anyone try to steal, he is able to unscrew the nut but when he try to push out the screw, the screw will hit my disc brake and unable to take out my caliper... Unless, he jack up my bike and take out my whole tyre den i nth to say liao ..

Hope those pics and explaination will help all Bros riding S4 one.. Seriously go bike shop spend abt $20 like that and get it done in this way unless you wan to be me like that, brake caliper kana steal liao den do this way.. I doubt anyone here would wan that to happen rite ? :p

But till now in forum or anywhere i cant find a way to prevent my rear brake caliper to be done in this way or any way to prevent it from kana steal ?? Anyone S4 bro here have any idea/suggestion ??

Not sure about that..if you can live with pumping up before it comes to reserve..you still ride. Inside the fuel cork, there are two snout..the short is the one that may b clog. It may or may not happen again since pumping petrol would create a swirl and unclog the area there..but point in time..it's gonna recur.

Hi bro, another way is to get Tamperproof Screws. Those like hex shape but got 1 pin in the middle. or even star shape with pin in the middle.

what i can say is da, usually pple hu operate a theift case is they themself r also riding a S4. unless they r bike shop mech hu know how to unscrew all e screw. jz b aware pple loitering ard ur area.

b aware in mind da every morn when u warm up ur bike n u chat with e pple there, they might b e most suspecious pple hu ard u.

they can b vv nice n friendly infront of u, but when at r back, is anth case.

wat i will say da was bcuz they know ur routing of ur bike when u return and when u set off.

y i will say da is cuz it happen to mi b4.

i cover my bike everynite when i m home without fail. at times u will c few regular bikers park there n start taking a gland on ur bike everytime u park,

e nx morn when i wake up,i realised my bike cover is half untied but nv totally lifeted up. i guess it stucked tere half way. i m vv certainly sure da is not premas.

there is a saying in chinese, " the most dangerous place is the safer place"

wat i mean is da "e pple u think is friendly da is the pple u muz b aware with"

jz my 2cents of suggestion. pls do not flame mi.lol.

Any bike shop can be done one .. U juz explain to them that u wan it in this way and tell them that tyre muz take out so that screw can screw in from inwards... I that day do is $40 cos muz do bleeding for my brake calipers cos my front brake reserviour is totally empty liao .. If i not wrong $20 like that should be able to do it liao ...

Also why i only screw the top screw inwards is cos the mechanic tell mi is veri troublesome or maybe more difficult to screw in the bottom fr inwards cos i tell him nvm, top screw can liao ... If you wan i thk it should not be a problem to screw in the bottom one fr inwards also ...

Ya lor, i now veri careful on my area carpark liao .. Confirm cover my bike at nitez and every now and then will take a look out of my window to see my bike and if there is stranger walking ard my carpark area..

Bro Crave thanks for the photos I be heading down to my mechanic and get the bolts done as what u've explain. Can't really afford to lose my brakes...

Brothers of S4, u guys mentioned about installing alarms is Spec 3 eligible to install one? I mean with all the electronics stuffs and all that? Me not sure... Maybe someone who rides a VTEC 3 could enlighten us?

Could u recommend which brand then? I'm really not sure about this. A friend of mine who rides a Ver S had a Scorpio Alarm fix on his. He specially ordered from MotorWorld and it seems quite an expensive set. If I can remember correctly its around $300 plus.

And sorry to hijack this thread!!!

steelmate (2 way type, good and not too expensive.had used it before),

cheetah (1 way type with tilt sensor, currently considering it),

scorpio (2 way type, guess it's the best among most alarm but high $$ too) etc...
