My guess using cheap methods: one hand-operated pump, connected to 1 hose. But I'm not sure whether the petrol in-transit thru the pipe will melt materials such as a garden hose or not.

Other than that, I wanna know too :D

It's possible but very difficult. Because from the refill point to the tank is the neck, and this neck is never straight as it has to conform to the contour of the car internals. It's very difficult to shaft a long tube all the way to the tank to siphon the petrol up.

The last thing you want is the tube to be stuck somewhere in between.

If your really must know, this is how you can do it.

Pop the bonnet, locate the fuel filter. Remove the out-going fuel line from the fuel filter. Use that point to connect a longer hose to an empty container. Turn ignition to "ON" (just before "START"), it will power-up and activate the fuel pump, and out flows the juice.

why not just use the normal fish tank pump??

IMO, whether the petrol will melt the pipe material (PVC) in-transit -- is one concern.

Rubbish lah...

I kept petrol in a mineral water bottle before, kept for 1 week also no problem.

Diesel (used as thinner ) also got kept in plastic flower watering can, the spray type, the diesel kept in the bottle for over 2 months also the bottle no change.

Just transferring the petrol for that 5 mins no problem one lah!

Well, it was just an initial concern...

After checking with my friend, who's in the chemical-refinery line, says that PVC is actually used in some applications...PVC pipes are also used to transfer petrol.

I'm not too good at chemicals leh... -_-"

Be careful when using paper funnel made of if made of paper cup.

I have use a paper cup funnel once before, using those paper cups for soft drinks from fast food resturant and it was leaking after about 1 min.

The petrol/diesel will dissolve the wax in the paper, so do what you have to and dump the cup.

This is not just a myth.

It's speaking from real life experience.

And the paper will also also absorb petrol/diesel and become highly flamable, so be careful how you dispose of it.

Want something easy to get the job done ?

Buy normal rubber / translucent hose. Go to hardware shop to buy 1-way valve. DIY fit into the hose, may require modifications. Then understand the concept of pressure flow from higher level to lower level.

You win liao lah!

Might as well say use nail and hammer to poke a hole in the old tank to drain out the fuel into a bucket then pour into the other tank.
