I orginally also want H&B but after looking around + Doing my maths... I ended up with installing a pair of E45s!

Never regretted my decision to have them custom mounted... But a word of advise... There are indeed a couple of things or issues that have to be attended to after mounting the pair of E45s.

I'm very particular about my bike's handling and it took me almost 2 months to have my bike handling sorted out...

Things or issues that I have attended to...

~ Improve Front Shocks.

~ Replaced Cone bearings.

~ Rebuild and strengthen rear shocks... Both spring rate & Rebound.

~ Installed Scoltoiler to take care of the chain as it's always under load.

~ Re-work ( Improve) the customize rack! You can't imagine the load I carried during my last Phuket trip.

~ Tyre pressure Indicator to monitor both tyre pressure.. Front 36psi / Rear 42psi. ( It's a life saver)

~ Just to name a few.... :D

Do remember that our bikes rear sub frame is not originally design to have any extra loading done... So it's wiser to strip the rear fairings off and check phyically to see is there any cracks or dents to the existing sub-frame...

This is especially so if your ride is a used unit and you are not sure of it's history... I strip my rear to bare bone to check all factory welds before commencing on my little project... No point spending that much $$$ and find out later that there are cracks on the sub-frame...

Just my 2 cents... Please correct / pardon me should I be wrong... :p

Good write up bro... :thumb:

:cheeky: Thanks...

Just wanting to highlight that the cost of installing a pair of panniers does not only cover the Boxes & Racks...

Too much "Loading" on the rear and the front end will feel light & off balance.

This is dangerous, especially during riding in the rain on the highways... even at legal speeds... ...:)

Cheers!

Then it sounds like you need a pair of saddle bags.

Yalor thats what my friends say too. Now time to hunt for saddlebags!!

What you do do is to get your saddlebags and go to Ah Ann to get him to fabricate a basic site rack to prevent the bags from sagging...

Here's some sample I got from Google.

i thought of doing something like that as well.. but i wonder how much does it cost to do something 'simple' like that. i do have sample pictures for my bike also, riders from other countries just fabricate it themselves.

I don't think it would be very expensive if you do it at Ah Ann...

i think below 400.. or maybe price increase already. yes it will be heavy at the back. do periodical check on your topbox rack. 1 side of my rack broke into 2 when i was at msia before.

One more thing on mounting side boxes is to pay attention to the height of the boxes. If your boxes are of the larger sizes, you might want to lower your exhaust so you can mount them low enough to not affect handling and keep your pillion comfortable.

Handling is a very important issue when you put anything outside the designed dimension of the bike. Do take note guys...

Actually, bikes are designed for single rider. So if you pillion, get your pillion to sit close to you for proper handling...

Female pillions get concerned about boob contact. Male pillions get concerned about crotch contact. It gets old.

I try a compromise. If you refuse to hug me, then at the very least grab onto my belt. Stop. Leaning. On. My. Box!

Wakakakaka~! I hate it when pillion lean on my box. For me I don't have any other pillion besides my fiancee or the occasional male colleagues. They do understand the physics of riding pillion...

lol........

well, for me, very simple, for those who Im pillion-ing 1st time or their 1st time sitting pillion, just tell them beforehand to lean same direction in corners, hold my shoulder for their assurance.

Ive no qualms about them leaning on my top box.

But usually I'll ask them if they've sat on a bike before, so if they do, they'll know the physics, if they dont, then I brief them on the above mentioned stuffs..

Ha..ha...ha...

Come to think about it... I have experience many Types of Pillions in my time...

RACING PILLIONs!

They think they can "KUP" better than me... leaning more than the Rider.... ! Ending up.... With the rider (Me) nearly shitting in my pants because the bike went lower than required.... resulting in me having to pull the bike up to prevent over steering!

Example:

Bike heading into a nice 90* bend....

Rider lean over to take the corner...

Pillion thinking not to look stupid and lean even further more than the rider!

Resulting in the Rider sucking up his Balls as the bike feels like making a U - Turn rather than a Nice corner Turn....!!!

KUP~ME~NOT PILLIONs

These are the types when you ask them... Are you afraid of taking a ride on a motorcycle?

NO!!!! They say...

And Hell, you still ended up nearly shitting your self!

Example:

Bike heading into a left Corner...

Rider leans LEFT to take the Corner...

1/4 into the Bend.... aka Corner...

Pillion suddenly feels that due to the Time, Date & Road Conditions.... You shouldn't be going that LOW!

With that though! HE/SHE suddenly Leans to the Right!!!!

Resulting in sending the Rider BALLS to his mouth... as the Bike UPRIGHTS it's self half way though the damn Bend!

ME~NO~SAFETY BELT PILLIONS!

*TWO VERSIONS*

Before Riding off...tell them to hold your shoulder or the bikes bars (if there's any) and they simply nod their heads like a 3 year old!

MALE VERSION

Coming towards a Traffic light... Light turns ember or Red...

Rider brakes hard...

Pillion not hold no to Rider nor any thing!

Slides forward @ 6 inches/per Nano Second to wards Riders Bum!

Pillion feels stupid knocking into Rider's Bum and Helmet...

Rider has his head Slamed like a Jack hammer and his NUTS CRUSH!

FEMALE VERSION

Coming towards a Traffic light... Light turns ember or Red...

Rider brakes hard...

(a)

Pillion hands chews into Rider's shoulders.

Rider feels like his neck nearly fall off.... and loses all feelings to his shoulders....

(b)

Pillion hands hangs on for dear life to the Bike's Grab bar and slams head onto riders helmet...

Rider losing vision of the road... ending up looking at his tank because of impact cause by pillion!

Just a few I could think off.....:shades:

To Me....
