Anyone have any idea how to mount sideboxes on a MP3 Scooter? Pet project of mine.

Id get a saddle bag instead if i was you. Less trouble for something so enclosed.

Suzuki GSXR-400 (2008 - 2009)

Piaggio Vespa GT 200L (2009 - 2011)

Yes, am considering that as well. But i am looking for something more sturdy and fixed. Any recommendations for saddle bags? Currently considering the ones from ortlieb.

The new givi tubular racks have 4 mounting points at the end. I am sure you can bolt in a hepco becker baseplate no problem.

Would that fit the revo and that is for a top box utilising the passenger grab rail holes isn't it?

You think you'd be able to mount any top box on that?

bro u still can use the passenger grab rail & at the same time mount a top box on it..

not pouring cold water, best is not mount a box on there.

with reference on my post reply to Res above, as the carrier rack is mounted on the pillion grab bar, that is consider one of the weakest point of the bike as its the tail frame section.

with the carrier's own weight already stressing the point itself, additional weight would cause the tail frame structure to stress out.

IIRC, read somewhere that this carrier's limit is only up to 3kg. An empty box + baseplate itself is already almost taking up ½ of the weight, put anything else inside, would only meant to over load the limited stress load.

IMO, this type of carrier, is designed for the likes of strapping on bags for touring instead of mounting a top box..

or the usual marketing barangs².. :p

when I dismount my top box it kinda of surprise me... it is heavy with the frame... definitely heavier that u estimated...

I put that estimation is because of assuming the normal average capacity box of 33â„“. When empty totally.

erm, not sure about what/how you mean by the frame thou.

& usually no matter what type of boxes we buy/have, it'll state the limited capacity of weighing load is aboout up to 3â„“, BUT, must consult to the vehicle's owner manual if the additional loading is allowed and/or not hinderance to voiding the factory warranty.

This is according to what I know, pls read my siggy for disclaimer...

thanks bro for the info....

yr welcome..

These below are AETOS's bikes. They are nice panniers but made of fibreglass available from Ban Hock Hin. Will shatter upon impact compared to HDPE (High Density Poly Ethylene) like those used on GIVI/Kappa boxes.

Yupz... Fibreglass is expensive but they are not as tough as HDPE. I think the aftermarket single seater available on Webike Japan is nicer. For the top box, you can try looking at keypress boxes and mod to fit on normal rack.

Hi Guys,

I'm back....

To Kev,

Great way to meet up with you... MAN!

+ I did not have to ride up North alone after all... Met up with two fellow SBF Members, the trip couldn't be any better!

To fellow GIVI BOX users...

Never regretted mounting a pair of GIVI E45! Had much more luggage capacity than my ex ST1100!

Yes, it could never run as fast as my ex-bike... but having a S4 always brings a smile to me face... Loving my darling Iron Horse more & more after each trip up north!

I have loaded my fotos to my Facebook Account, do not want to get off topic here.

My Facebook ~ Gerald Tan Stoner.

Do look me up.... Cheers!

To Me....

This is a Yamaha Diversion.

They have the panniners as standard.

The windshield is an add on option.

Some of the civilian Diversions have the same set-up & color scheme.

Check Team Diversion out. :thumb:
