Foreigners replacing Sporean in expects in regards to jobs, place of your child in school or even housing. I been trying for about 4 yrs, not less than 15 times to get a simple 3-rooom flat as a Sporean. FTs are buying over our HDB flats for investments or staying but most do NOT intend to convert. Giving their attiude to service industry worst than Sporeans once they got their PR-ships. This been bugging me and hope improvement will be done.

Same in Australia. PRCs buying up houses and then keeping for investment or for their kids to stay there until the studies are completed. The lack of supply has pushed prices up so much that I was forced to get a mortgage to buy a house.

Its a very sad situation here and the only country having such advantages for foreigners and PR. they should not allow PR to buy house at all. should just rent so that average singaporean can earn money from rental. in australia, when PR want to sell their house, it must be to a Aussie, so die die cannot sell high. but here, we singaporean get push. PR after a few years , sell their house to highest bidder (our own Singaporean especially young couple). sighhhhhhhh

We're doing the same in Msia, use HDB in SG as rental. Charge FTs higher, settle.

Spore should implement as of Mysia. PR.s and non-citizens not allowed to buy their gov sub housings. Private apartments or landed property above 500K value then can buy. This way, housing meant for local will not zoom up in price. This is how our neighbour take care for her people.:thumb:

I beg your pardon. Did you just say 'our neighbour take care for her people???

Been staying there over four years and this is what I observed.

i sumhow don't understand some singaporeans saying bad things about our neighbour but almost every night we see the custom jams full of singapore cars squeezing into JB to pump petrol, eat, buy cigs, wash car/bike etc...

Even the malaysian govn when they made the subsidised petrol rule which only malaysian cars are able to pump the cheap 95octane fuel they still ease the rule for singaporean bikes to still be able pump the 95octane cos they do not want to make the small people suffer even if they are singaporean. In singapore there is no such thing as a biker is poorer so he can escape the system, he will still have to pay but just pays lesser that is all.

N i heard they have the 1malaysia clinics which any citizen can seek treatment at private clinics and just pay $1ringgit cos the govn subsidise their treatment.

Malaysia openly declares it has policies built along racial lines but its not like the minorities are oppressed, Singapore declares its a multi racial society but the truth is the govt has racist attitudes against minorities. There corruption is corruption, here corruption is legalised, besides whatever you own there means you own it unlike Singapore, where everything is borrowed even though you've paid 2-3 times the amount of the actual price.

Singapore is good if you don't wanna get robbed because its a prison island but the chances of you working well into your retirement age is also high, that one want to die cock stand need viagra.

Pros and cons la.

let us forget malaysia for the moment and concentrate on ourselves...

Orwell's 1984 is already here in our "prison island" but 90% of sinkies are too busy working to pay for ever increasing costs of living to even notice it.

Cameras everywhere, RFID chips in everything, Fluoride in our supposedly safe 'NEWATER', chemtrails in the sky. biometrics coming soon from today's Straits Times. ISA is still being carried out against political dissension.

we pay for everything. we own nothing. we are being watched. we are afraid to take action cause we fear to be blackmarked & penalised.

our laws are repressive. our rights do not exist in reality.

we don't even know what is the difference between a republic or a democracy. no, it is not the same.

Debt is for Wealth. Repression is for Security. Slavery is for Safety. or so we are being led to believe after being tamed and brainwashed...we fear everything so we seek 'safety' from our 'shepherds'.

we are being controlled so tightly yet we only know how to complain, cause we instinctively know in our hearts we are powerless to change our situation, so we can only whine, complain over everything.

we want the government to change their ways and take care of everything for us, in the process giving them even more power & control OVER US. with blind faith, they will never abuse their power & will always have our interests in their hearts. haven't they always being good to us all these decades? it is a reflection of our hopelessness that we resort to such remote chances, like a poor bloke who can only hope to strike lottery.

BUT I DON'T BLAME our government or our ministers. know why?

we are responsible cause we allow it to happen. some of us even ask for it. we want more & more restrictions & controls over ourselves. we are being brainwashed to such extent we even desire a nanny state, in one of the already most regimented restrictive laws & regulations in the the world, yet some of us still think this is not enough!

it is the people who OBEY & carry out such repression that are responsible. they were brainwashed to believe that following such orders is the good & right thing to do, leading to "safety, security, order". they are the naive ones that have not woken up.

eg. Hitler did not kill that many people, it is the Nazis & Germans under him who OBEYED that did.

eg. Fascism is actually corporatism. Communism on the left & Fascism on the right is actually the same thing...ie. Collectivism...ahem...actually in reality is totalitarism. period. no difference at all.

excuse my rant on 'what is bugging me'.

we are told we have arrived as a first world nation, we are told we are wealthy. Do you feel wealthy & happy? if so, why complain?

EDIT: back to topic, actually malaysia is in just a bad shape as us. No malaysia is not better nor is singapore any better off.

however, i notice there is 1 big fundamental difference between them.

Malaysians are more likely to resist even if they do so only very occassionally, where as Singaporeans are almost certain to obediently give in & just complain with gutso after surrendering thier freedoms & rights.

we just phlegmatically accept whatever that is being forced upon us, cause that has always been the story of our young nation in the past 5 decades.

when we find that our complains are useless, we will complain over even smaller & more minor things since we believe we cannot change the big major grievances. we grab at straws, anything so that we can feel better after letting off steam like i am doing now.

EDIT 2 to those who are still not convinced...

btw, a street hoodlum can only rob you of a little of your money as long as you do not carry too much with you.

but in our SAFE & SECURE prison island...you are being legally robbed of so much more than that, think about it!

When Singaporeans use robbery as a point and Singaporeans will continue to use the frequent thefts there as a point. So if its a Msia vs Spore thing regarding crime, its really the higher chances of you being robbed vs you definately being robbed by the govt over your whole lifetime. I don't believe that Singaporeans don't want to do anything about it.

Its just that we haven't reached critical mass yet, the PAP would do everything in their power to hold power, I don't think vote rigging is out of the question as they have proved time and time again to bypass the laws they set for themselves, they also don't seem to be interested in fair play so I don't see them getting out democratically as a likely option though the other option isn't desirable either. Like I said, it has not yet reached to that critical level yet but looking at the way things are progressing, it will happen. For now, you can only either protest...or leave Singapore.
