@Fredd, when are you planning on doing the Australia road trip ? Have the dates yet ? Which bike will you rent ? The Five Countries trip I'd like to do is about 3.6k km one way.

@SC Gaban, patience, things will come your way as well, plan and save and God Willing you'll get the chance ! We can start planning Indonesia if you'd like, I was thinking June or July, let me know which dates would work best for you. We can actually ride there if you have enough days maybe ? Or maybe go in August to make use of national holiday ? (But that'll be Ramadan period so maybe not ideal..)

can anyone check if their konda has ece sticker? thinking regina selling us china goods.

My HJC has this under the padding, sticked to the interior of the helmet.

if there's nothing when you remove all paddings it doesn't mean it's a fake. it means that particular helmet hasn't been tested. They test helmets to get the approved standard for the model, but not all helmets are individually tested.

Some shops get untested helmets. Some only sell tested helmets with the stickers and proper testing done. The presence of the sticker only confirms that the helmet does not have any problem coming out of the factory. But by right, if the model is Snell approved, you have a better chance to have a proper helmet between your hands than a helmet that's faulty.

@alvinyansg, when I saw the wires you bought I knew it was for front lights :D

Nicely done for the switch, very clever and cool placement you got there, and it looks to be sitting in well and will not move ! Fog lights maybe ? Since you have a switch for each... Anyway, very well done, and as for the fuses, no big deal, at least you burnt fuses and not any wires or something worse.

Looking forward to seeing the result in person - come to the BTWO yeah ?

(The part you want us to guess is easy - front plate !)

I just bought the bike few days ago. I have already sold my previous bike. I asked the previous owner and he says he is not aware of the sound :faint: But he did say that he is ready to split the expenses but if it costs over 200$ I doubt whether he will agree to bear the charges.

Anyways I tried to ride today in 4th gear but as a habit I just push it to 5th gear and although there is the sound I just ignore it. I hope its just the sound and can live with it but hope it doesn't cause further damage.

I bought my bike and overhauled for 1k at my own expenses..

What's DP ?

So you're renting the bike , how much and what bike ?

After bonus means the week after the next ?

1 week to do 3300km is a bit short, no ? Are you only doing it one way ? (i.e fly in the start point and fly off from the destination point)

wah go so fast fast to try for the bajaj open issit? .. kekekee

btw .. fyi

DTSi on Pulsar

1. The most obvious feature is the Twin Spark Plug configuration o f

the Engine. The cylinder head has 2 spark plugs one on either

side. These also spark simultaneuosly, This has been done to improve

the combustion process by reducing the time of combustion.

The end results are low emissions, good fuel economy and good

driveability

2. To enable the sparking of the 2 spark plugs, a intelligent CDI

capable of handling this was developed. Further more, the

ignition timing has been optimised to give the best output from

0 0 engine (10 BTDC @ 1500 rpm, 28 BTDC @ 3500 rpm). To

enable optimum igntion timing for part throttle loads and full

throttle loads, there are separate igntion maps stored in the

memory of the CDI. These are activated depending on the

throttle opening and engine speed. The Digital CDI has a bit

Microprocessor which handles all these inputs and gives out the

required and correct spark advance. The intelligent CDI can be

easily indentified by 2 green dots marked on CDI case.

3. To enable switching the required igntion maps, a magnetically

operated need switch is incorporated on the carburettor throttle

shaft and carburettor body. This is known as TRICS. Throttle

Responsive Igntion Control System.

4. These engines are capable of of reviving very high, quite easily.

To keep them mechanically safe, a engine rpm limiter has been

incorporated in the Digital CDI. This curtails the sparks to the

spark plugs thereby limiting the engine rpm Max upto 9000 and

thus keeps the engine mechanically safe. There are 2 spark

plugs. LH spark plug fires at 350 rpm and then continues to

give spark till at 9000 rpm of engine. The spark is cut off from

LH plug 9000 rpm to protect engine from excessively high

speed.RH spark plug gives spark at 750 rpm and then continues to

give till 6000 rpm of engine. If engine rpm exceeds 6000 rpm

then RH plug is cut off. This is done to reduce combustion

noise created in engine.

5. This engine has been extensively tuned for more Power and

Torque.

6. The DTSi technology has enabled the Pulsar to meet 2006

norms without any Secondary air injection devices.

Troubleshooting :

• Malfunctioning of the Reed switch assly will not harm the engine, neither it will give any physical

indicators like starting trouble or misfiring.

However checking of proper functioning of Reed Switch Assly at PDI and at every service

is essential.

• Following symptoms may indicate as malfunctioning of Reed Switch Assly as one of the cause.

Symptom:

Sudden drop in mileage & power

lack in mid range rpm

Cause:

The igntion systems is working only in 2nd map due to reed switch is

stuck in open circuit

Remedy

Replacement of Reed Switch Assly

Cheeers!

LOL but i was sure it tipped over 9rpm there alil more than halfway to 10! must be my eye playing trics on me!

If I were you, I wouldn't hesitate a second. take the bike tomorrow to UM, get a quotation, and split the bill with the previous owner.

Come on, the second you started riding it you noticed the problem. of course he knew about it !

@SC Gaban, another thought to make touring more affordable: find a touring buddy to share the cost of the hotel. A good friend who rides or a pillion who wants to travel on bike whom you can share the lodging with. You'd pay the same price for the room anywa so might as well split the cost between two people..

been using it since i installed my hazard lights

BTWO not confirm yet...

if i go i can't stay late also...

I am dying to take it to UM. But not easy as my work hours and UM's work hours clash and to make matters worse my office is in the far east and home is in the north. UM in completely opposite direction.

I guess I will leave early from work to go to UM tomorrow afternoon. Need to think of a good reason to give my manager. Cant tell him I am going to get the bike serviced

i think is depends on the country where the helmets are exported to so the different stickers that are needed

for the dot/snell approval i think they still go through the test

for O'ren's case her's is bought overseas and hence the snell sticker
