oooops. I'm kinda happy. I thought i was the only one out here who dropped my bike before. This is what happened in my case.

The garage of my malaysia house is not even. It has a slight downhill slope. The first time i tried to reverse push it using the bbdc way like how they push megapros, i turned my handlebar to the right and OMG. That's when i realized this bike is no joke at all. The whole bike toppled to it's right side. :( luckily for the leg guards chris installed for me. The bike got away with scratches on the leg guard and the right side mirror. OUCH. NEW BIKE LEHHH. Think i won't be removing the leg guards anytime soon. :) i learn how to sit on the bike while reversing next time! That way ur legs and body can counter the weight of the bike :)

just to ask. I was going at around 90kmph just now and i smell a burnt smell. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY BIKE? :( my bike go like 70 and has no power alrdy! Is it normal for new pulsar?

Put the bike on main stand and try to rotate the wheels. See if it is rotating freely. Maybe case like Alvin, brake is too tight.

To apply ice on burnt injury is a BAD habit .... bad habit started from a frequent doings and it will continue to teach our next generation the same mistakes. It is wise to learnt and adapt a correct procedure which will also change the wrong mindset and will helps our next generation the correct and safe way.

No doubt the injury is minor but when a bad habit is often used, it will eventually lead to the same mistake if one or someone got severe injury. Please do remember skin are very delicate and some are very sensitive.

Wrong medication approach can lead to more severe damage.

Why ice is not a good choice for burnt injury? Have you heard of Frosbite and Gas Gangrene? Both related with mucle tissue destruction but from a different source.

Pleas read here ...

Thanks MJ, Didn't know its that serious. Will keep in mind next time.

Wow thats cheap! When I tried looking for EO in JB, I found Motul 5100 semi synthetic for 45RM almost same price as SG, so I had concluded JB and SG same price for EO.

Where did you buy it, in JB?

done your 1st servicing already?

how long did you travel at 90km/h?

burning smell from where?

directly under your tank engine area or come from the back of the bike?

brake pedal any play?

like we mention before do keep to the recommended speed for run-in...

you can exceed slightly but not a lot...

if not suffer the effects later on...

70km/h no power?

describe the symptoms?

and if you are still running in then thats the speed max you can go to anyway...

Nono. I'm doing exactly as the manual says. I'm now at 1k+ so im running 75 and below. The 90 one was a very long downhill near my place and i just opened ABIT of throttle so i guess that doesn't count as stressing the engine is it?

Thats correct. Its Semi Synthetic. Actually "Mobil" and "Mobil 1" are different brands. "Mobil" is mineral and semi syn whereas "Mobil 1" is FS. Their websites are also different.

This EO can be used, no problem.

Hi Guys,

I had recently sprayed my exhaust black. Now the part of the exhaust near the engine has become white in color. Anybody know why? Is it because there is a hole in the exhaust and the exhaust gases are white in color?

I have seen many Super 4 exhaust pipes also have white deposits on it.

not this...

i got this type

http://i51.tinypic.com/wbw61j.jpg

like mj and i mention before the wire is to make the tubing able to flex to the direction and location and stay there...

without the wire the tube will flex back to the original shape and your oiler tip will not be able to stay in location you want it to be...

Ok I see. I'll see how it goes, worst I'll go find the right one. Thanks for the pic, very useful!

Also Mj thank you for your input as well :cheer:

75 to 90 is not opening "a bit".. :slapforehead:

If your manual says you can now ride at that speed then there won't be any stress on the engine.

You say you felt like the bike was too slow. This is your first bike or not? If it is, maybe you are expecting something unrealistic?

It's a 2B bike which top speed is around 120km/h (some have taken it to 140km but that's with mods). It means that its comfort speed is between 80 and 105km/h roughly.

Why do you think it's slow? Be patient, once you get higher class licenses you can get yourself a bike that goes at 180km/h and feel like the speed is ok :cheeky:

Honestly if your bike is brand new it will not give you ANY problem for a long time. I've had mine 1 year and the only issue I ever encountered was because of my own doing: I left the bike parked for 2 weeks with the alarm and other accessories draining the battery. The bike has never let me down on it's own. So I trust the manufacturing is good enough. It's the rider that makes all the difference.

It's always the rider !

Alright people. Guess i will wait till after 2k run in then see how again then. Again like i said 90km/h was at a long downslope and i only open abit of a throttle. Cos if i nv open abit, can feel like the engine brakes for gear 5 is kicking in. I'm sure im not really stressing the engine though. So im disturbed by the burnt smell. :( Will try the mainstand test whether free wheel or not tml when i do my chain servicing! Hope i dun screw up though.

The steps are: warm up chain, use soap and brush to roughly clean out the grease, ( is car shampoo okay?)

Let chain dry off, apply lube on top of lower chain right?

Wipe off excess other that then still need to let it sit in or straight away go ride around again?

Why don't you go to UM ? it's $6 per servicing and you got a few free servicings.

I didn't specifically wash my chain at 1k. I only wash the bike and lube the chain afterward. So you can just simply wash your bike normally, (no need to warm up the chain), and degreas the chain with a brush and newspaper. You can't go wrong, don;t worry.

If your chain is not too dirty, then don;t worry, just a normal wash will do. Once it's dry, lube it and that's it.

It's recommended you let the lube sit in for a while before riding again. I let it sit in all night because it's easier for me, I clean/lube at the end of the day. But if you wait 30min it's good enough.

Another thing, about engine braking: if you go down slope, of course the engine braking will kick in. The only way to counter it is to throttle and accelerate. The engine brake will kick in especially if you were going fast and all of a sudden you close the throttle.

About the burnt smell, are you sure it came from your bike ? How often does it happen ? Just take the bike for a ride, go up to 70-75km/h and see if you smell it again.

maybe haven break in and season tts why like no power and all. and the burnt smell might be the new chemicals and material getting use to the heat, observe carefully and if it keeps getting u, go to the mech soon for a check :)

oren: u lube and clean ur chain every single day even when u installing diyoiler?

uncle mj: how often u order sinnobs? and when do u know urs is dying and need a change?

I have a question for everybody who has a P180 UG1,2, 3 or 4. When you fill fresh oil of 1L, does it reach the max level of the EO level indicator? When I filled last time I noticed 1L was below the min mark of my UG2. I have bought an extra bottle of Mobil Mineral oil just for topping up.

engine cooled down?

front wheel on touching the floor?

flat and even floor?

1L of EO for 180 will be in the middle near the full mark...
