I think the Mercedes owner is an army or officer guy as he's waving his gun (even firing it) at the biker - not sure if because he rode too close to his car or whatever. What amazes me is how everyone is so scared to do or say something..

 

 

@revhappy, that's insane! It's HIS fault , you were going straight! SOB...did he say he'd claim from you? This is bullying.. Man I'm more scared of having to deal with dishonest drivers than with injuries in case of an accident...

From the way he behaved after the accident, I kind of expected that he is going to claim against me. He was totally unappologetic about it and was acting as it was completely my fault.

 

I do agree that it was partly my fault because I should have slowed down, even though I had the right of way and the fact that I banged him even though he came in my way. I have a feeling he might have mentioned in his statement that the light was green arrow in his favor and red light for me, in which case he would be really dishonest and low life SOB. But no witnesses to prove his statement.

 

I will leave it to the insurance company to decide. I am happy that me and my bike came out totally unscathed from that accident and has made me more alert. If the outcome is against me, which I believe it shouldn't be because there is no evidence here, its just his words against mine, I believe the worst case for me is my insurance premium will go up next year and will stay high for next 3 years . Just keeping fingers crossed that it doesn't go that way.

rev i believe you must take note that your strongest point is your have THE RIGHT OF WAY. as the vehicle that has the right of way will always win in this situation.It is possible to AMEND YOUR REPORT with IDAC as the matter is still being processed so i hope you get to IDAC as soon as possible to do it.

Just got a letter from my insurance company that the car driver has made a claim of $2887. They have also asked me to reply with any comments,if I have. If not they will just proceed with it as they deem fit.

 

I think $2887 is way too much for those scratches isn't it? I have already reported to IDAC my story, isnt that enough? But I havent submitted the photo that I had taken, may be I will reply to the insurance guys once again with the photo.

 

WTH 2887 is way too much for scratches, yes just get your insurance to settle for you, you do not need to do anything unless you admit its your fault and close case than it would be $2887. Btw reporting at IDAC is just to inform them, you should call your insurance and ask them what you are suppose to do. And you have to know if the other party claim against you do you need to pay your excess?

Don't worry just call up and tell your insurance what happen, you can make up another story in your favour as well.

2) Chain degreasing.

3) Fork re-oiling.

some bugger stole my helmet when i parked my bike at the hdb carpark.

 

i'm just wondering how come he/she took it when my helmet is:

- old (> 1 year old and looks like it)

- dirty (supposed to be white but not white anymore)

- ugly (dropped once before and has various very obvious scratch marks around, stickers peeling off some places)

- maybe smelly (haven't washed the inner lining for quite a long while)

 

on the bright side, time to get a modular/full-face helmet. saw that promo at motoworld, 2 FF for $200, anyone knows if it's still valid?
