best wud be once a yr to bleed the brakes n change to new brake fluids..but u will noe its time to change when u brake n the lever depress all e way or more than normal..dats when safety will be compromised

 

Brake fluid I think very long time then change. Spark plug depends on which u are using. Can change after every alternate servicing.

do u have ur manual book when u got ur bike?

 

how many times have u been to UM to do ur servicing or changing any parts? ...

 

so do remember this .. if u go to UM in future or any workshop of ur preferable one .. while they do ur bike .. sit together wif them and ask ur bike on wat to look out for and how to do simple check ups ... ur mech is best friend during dat moment ... u pay them for their service so ask them for ur own good ...

 

here we are not like decepticons or venom but most questions asked are numerously repititions ... reasons we have almost 1000 pages coming soon ....

 

and reasons due to that i feel we need to change to a new thread cos we can re organise the pages and make it more simpler for all to look for ...

I Was expecting mastera's reply but you Strongbow... That's a bit unfair don't you think? How many times did you get help and in a very involved detailed totally supportive way?

 

You guys have to understand that helping is not the issue. The issue I was highlighting was that doing a little research before asking a question is a basic forum rule. Every forum in the world has that sticky that says before you ask, search for the answer first.

 

Mastera, the first place to look is your bike manual. The answers are there for your questions. you don't have it, a search here turns up results of links where you can dwl it or you can google it and dwl it.

 

Honestly guys, I have been helping for years, and for you now to say "yeah I don't post because people reply like this and I don't get help and get this kind of reply", you got some nerve...

 

How about you try and "help" others for a few years and see if you will not urge people to use the search function after that time when someone asks when do I change my spark plugs? Maybe it will give you a bit of perspective to understand my point of view ...

 

anyway. i want to give thanks to a lot of u guys for ur help, especially uncle mj. But the incident i was referring to was not of me asking a question.

i was sharing a review about something i bought and was pointed to the search thread too. wtf? o.O

and its very hard to use the search function for the thread, results usually appear in tonnes and does not come out right.

i was just thinking if u see a person ask a question and u feel like you do not want to answer, maybe just ignore instead of telling the person off?

let someone who feels like doing the answering do the answering instead. this way, i feel like its more of a win win situation. no one loses anything.

 

i feel like everyone has their rights to post whatever they want on the forum, and no one likes getting told off i believe.

Can't remember what review it was you felt we didn't give the proper response to, no one here wants to offend anyone..we're here because we enjoy ourselves, if it's not a good experience for all then there's no point right ?

 

And as for the thread search, agree with you it sucks big time. Been saying this from day 1.

But when I suggest we switch to a more structured version, and dig all the relevant info to place it in more organized threads, what happens ?

Very little response, no one wants to do much, easier to "just leave it like dat lah".

In that case, it's very simple: new comers will have to go through 1000 pages of everything to find answers to very simple, very frequent questions.

And since they're not gonna want to do it (who would blame them!), they'll ask. Again and again...

Today just received the Quote from UM for my bike Full Overhaul. so Change of piston and Connecting Rod. And total price is $538. and i was suprised with the $200 Labour charge:faint: Even my parents say the price was too expensive as their FUll overhaul labour charge was only $100 from their usual mech.

 

AND JUST NOW when my dad kena SPEEDING SUMMON:angel: he was on the accelerating lane and speed was 113kmh. Feel bad for him:( shall sell of his ST for a GN125 hahahaha:thumb:

I think 200$ is reasonable price for labour for full overhaul and any bikeshop in Singapore for any 4 stroke bike will charge atleast that much. Only Top overhaul will be 100-150$. 2 strokes are cheaper to overhaul, but you need to do a lot more often.

The sad thing about the way labour is charged for overhaul is like change 1 part also 200$ change all parts also is 200$. Thats the reason I sourced engine parts from India for cheap, so that if they ever need to open the engine, might as well change all parts and get a new engine

 

Just searched this thread @Stylo has overhaul pulsar in JB, Wish he could share info on which shop
