Yeah, lifting this bike is not easy. Glad to know you and your bike are fine. BTW, mind sharing, what parts did you change for the overhaul and wat was the final bill?

Yeah the bike is heavy.. if tank is full, it's a pain to put back up. Very good training for class 2a and 2 !

Forgetting the side stand happened to a few of us. Me I alighted, ready to put it on main stand, and all of a sudden my body completely turned into jelly and I just dropped the bike slowly to the ground - no more energy to hold it.

Check your clutch lever if not bent or anything. If you have an engine crash bar the bike should be fine.

Check Stomp the next few days, you might get a spot there.

Apparently i just removed the crashbar! an i spotted something leaking from the carb.is it fuel? Its quite thin..everythings fine i think because it rested on the soil but my foot peg bent quite.badly.

Yeah has to be fuel. Foot peg is foldable, so may it's just folded up? Unlikely that the main metal holding the footpeg can get bent, its really hard.

Hi guys, interested to get the Pulsar. Just wanna confirm. Fuel tank total is 18l. 15l normal 3l reserve = 18l. correct?

Also 180 Dsti and 200 Dsti, which one more worth to get if difference $500(both 2008)? Other than engine cc what are the difference? I looking for the best FC.

Edit: nvm read thru a large chunk of this thread and found the answers i needed. Very useful thread! I decided on the 180.

How much insurance and which insurance company yall recommend? I got my license in Jan 2010, 21 this year. But i havent ride for some time as i sold my bike when i enlisted end of 2010.

welcome...

thanks for putting in the effort to search n read up...

for fuel tank, on paper its 15L(12L + 3L reserve, out of which 2+L usable)...

but you can pump in more to the brim which will be abt 18-19L...

you planning full payment or installment?

owner or bike shop?

cause this will affect which insurance company you can take up and what type of insurance...

if owner or shop(full payment), you can get just 3rd party which should be in the range of 400-500+ due to age...

if shop n installment, likely they will want you to take up their insurance company and cfm min need to get 2nd party which shld be in the range of 600-900+...

the above price is just my est...

need to check out the exact cost from the different companies...

feel free to ask any questions and we will be glad to help as much as possible...

For Charlton - This was posted by "spaiduh" in 2008..... Hope this can help. I myself am trying this...

"The "slow throttle" of the pulsar allows you to really control fuel consumption... or pickup. My riding style has taken an evolution since i already got a "play" bike, so the pulsar i am using mainly for work. i used to only manage 560km before hitting reserve, now i managed to hit 790km before hitting reserve. 50-60 normally, 70 on overtaking. calulated it to be around 49km/l.You only need 1/4 throttle to manage on the streets. and less than half to manage on the express ways, except when overtaking. more than that, it starts to be wasteful. for gains of 30kmh you need to use twice as much petrol? thats a gear ratio limitation that can be overcome by installing a smaller sized sprocket."

Ride slow slow. Getting old already..................

You guys having issues with your FC ?

What FC do you record ?

Of course, if you ride 50-60km/h you get 800km+ out of the bike.. When I do running in of the bike, I went over 800km per tank.

But it's not sustainable for everyday commuting, unless like Rev you work 8km from home

In any case please do not ride at 50-60 on the expressway. It's very dangerous, even if you stick in the first lane. People exit and enter the highway at sometimes speeds around 80km/h, and you become an immobile obstacle to them.

its ok bro .. for a P200 FBE + ur damaged u still got a good bike at less than $3k i believed ....

dats why Um selling slightly expensive than other shop cos they do the overhauling and refurbished the bike before selling ....

its a good bike and just keep maintaining it ur bike will last long and serve u well ... not like the first rider using the bike despatch work but dont bother to take care reasons u got to do more work on this bike .... my advise to you .. ride easy first and try to know more abt ur bike cos a second hand bike is not like a first hand bike ... a first hand bike you know ur bike since the very first day!! ....

Sinnob matter i wil pm u later ..

STOCK size 14T 38 and Stock special 14T 36 now available at UM

if ur budget is tight go for this stock special

SIINOB size 15T 38 and special 15T 38 ...

15T 39 u will get better pick up and yet a slight increase on top end too from stock T38

15T 38 ... will better than stock 14T36 but price wise is more expensive ...

pls call UM to check the stock price and come back to me after u got the pricing .... NO SACRIFICE NO VICTORY

and btw .. thanks for dropping by at my place to collect the air filter ... u make me worried after dat .. jeng jeng jeng

the old owner is a PR with a p plate and jump to a FZ16.

after not taking care of pulsar he dumped it and go for FZ16 .. if he do the same thing thinking dat FZ16 is invicible hehehe i believed he will curse the bike as wat he cursed pulsar and dumped the fz16 and will get another bike and it goes on and on .. cursing the bikes rather than himself .....

and just for info there got 1 fz16 guy recently skidded and his bike speedo popping out ... his damaged to repair the bike around $750 and u know what ,, just the speedo meter only is around $300 .... hmmm and here some of us still thinking pulsar speedo or parts damaged r very expensive .. hehehehhehe

just sharing no flaming anyone .... cos like its always stated ... Its The Rider and Not The Bike !! ... jeng jeng jeng
