Hi. Im thinking of buying a 2005 model pulsar 180. Price 1.5k. Is it a fair price? I know its an older model pulsar so so u think its reliable? Thanks.

 

haha, you talking about the red color bike on sale in SGbikemart? Looks neat. Good deal I would say, unless you hear some wierd engine noises. 3 year COE left, even Honda wave and Yamaha X1/Spark 110 sell for about the same or higher price. I would buy a pulsar any day, instead of those two.

Haha givi e20n, you like old school look is it? There was one for sale in garage sale section for 30$ I was considering it then thought doesn't suit pulsar. That box as a pair makes awesome side panniers though

 

YAAAAAAAAH I AM USING IT FOR PANNIERS! im gonna weld my own bracket to make it as close to the body as possible so still csn still selit in between cars. I asked around for the givi 21 but to me its wuite useless. Because i go to school everyday with raincoat. extra helmet. And a huge laptop. My top box cannot fit all and once i fit my laptop to the box and hang my helmet by the side my helm kena stolen.

 

So gonna make a permenant solution to the givi e20n hopefully. And no saddlebags as i cant secure my lappy much in there.

If i wanted to I can fit both my kids into it.. ok, thats a stretch but I can fit 2 weeks worth of groceries or fit 2 helmets (1 full face and 1 open). Anyone want it? It will obviously come with the thing that holds the box up.

Good luck. Regarding box, you can get a cheap Givi E33N second hand in the garage sale section for less than 30$, but it fits only one helmet. For bigger box will cost you atleast 50$. Rack for pulsar is not easy to find second hand, you can get new one from Ah Boy with installation for 65$. So take that into account while budgeting.

im riding a UG2 180 2005 model and i have to say it's still solidly running well,as long as you do the regular maintenance the bike will serve you well.after all it's a commuter's bike

Hello pulsarians! Just wana share some incident that i encountered ytd.

 

When i was on the way to camp, i realised my fuel only left around 2 bars so i decided to switch to reserve. As soon as i switched to reserve, my bike began to jerk and stalled. Tried to rectify the problem but dont know whats the cause of the problem. Parked my bike at roadside and called for tow.

 

Cause of problem: theres water in the tank. I havent ued my reserve tank for almost a year? The water accumulates inside the tank and wala!

 

Therefore, i advice fellow riders to do something to prevent water from seeping thru. I dont know how, maybe get a tank bra with the fuel flap like the one uncle mj has? ^^ or anyone here has other solution to solve this problem?

When you open the fuel lid, you will see a drain hole in the left side, if this hole is blocked due to dirt etc, water will accumulate along the gutter and then slowly get into the tank. So whenever you go for servicing make sure you get them to blow air into this hole so if it is blocked it gets cleared. People who park in open air car parks need to pay particular attention to this.

 

Tank bra is ofcourse a nice solution In India you get cheap tank bra's, although cheap doesnt mean nice looking. Here you get nice looking, but wont be so cheap, haha

There are some changes, wow.... After TP got high way introduction, thats a good practical lesson , as I remembers after passing 2B I was so terrified of high ways when big trucks passed by me.

 

Lol... I sound like a cave man but muhahahaha... good to noe that BBDC has improve their lesson plans =)

Went to UM to in the afternoon and got the rubber cap for the spark plug changed also changed both the spark plugs. UM only has stock of Denso plugs, that too its the one with protruding tips and not stock type, I wonder why they dont stock NGK CR9E.

 

Anyways UM was quite free in the afternoon today. Actually the Filipino guy once told me, that the worst time to go to UM is in the 1st week of the month because everyone gets their salary and then come to service the bike, haha. So currently last week of month very free, lol.

take your time to survey ard for your first bike b4 jumping in...

if you can wait,i think the NS will be a worthwhile wait...

My bike came with Shad 45L top box. Nowadays I dont pillion my wife(after we had our baby) so dont need such a big box. Thinking of changing to a smaller box. Hmmm..
