Can you just post the approximate price ?

In India P180 UG4 sells at a rate around 1700 SDG and 200NS is already launched 2 months back at a price of around 1950 SDG.

I want to know the prices of Singapore:)

WTH ?

I'm Moving to Singapore by January, so it seems I've also import my bike also :(

I slowly started shipping my things to my new work place.

Any idea why is this ridiculously over priced ?

For 7800 SGD I can buy a Kawasaki Ninja 650R + a decent helmet :D

You check out how expensive cars are here, then you know how cheap bikes are in comparison.

BTW, the pricing makes sense here. I know how shitty Indian roads are. Basically you guys dont ride or drive, you just crawl there and even try to ride on the footpaths, lol.

In comparison, here you have some really nice expressways, where daily you can ride 90-110km/hr minimum. That previledge is priceless, you will never get in India. :) No matter you can be a rich kid in India and buy a ferrari but what is the use, if you cant drive it. Here you get much more pleasure with a simplest of vehicles, so to me I would choose Singapore anyday.

Well I didn't come for arguing who's best and who is not, India is a large developing country may be not a match for a small country like SG. I came here because I got transferred and promoted to SG. And I came to realize that in SG everything is over priced (and you people buy anything 8-10 times overpriced without any obligations). I was thinking of importing my bike/car so that I can escape from my initial expenditures. I called my exec. of my company and he confirmed that besides my over hiked salary and promotion my company will be providing accommodation, transportation (a car, not sure which one) and Food also, seems all of problems solved :)

Personally I've to tell you that anything you have heard of India is 70% blunder. You can find almost everything in India which you have seen in SG.

Ferrari ? what else you want ? However we have speed limit of 75 Kmph (but very few speed cams - about 1/500km  )

Would be good read for you :)

Materialistically, Indians have purchasing power, I agree. But somethings are beyond individual's capacity and for that you cannot do anything about it no matter how rich you are. What I said is from experience of living in India and not hearsay. I know how bad traffic jams are in most cities in India, anybody can afford a car there and so everybody including his dog buys a car there but where to drive, lol. You didnt get my point. I dont blame you for that. You live here for few years and then you know what India is lacking.

Pulser u from india? Just curious.

The way u talk about india is kind of insulting. Cheerrs

I am telling the truth, this person has probably not yet stepped out of his country and calling Singapore ridiculously overpriced. I wanted to explain to him what cost is and what you get for it. You get awesome roads here which you can never "buy" in India. In India, true it is easy to get license buy bribing and buy a ferrari but, you could be on the recieving end if anther rich guy buys ferrrari and knocks you on the road. There is so much corruption there and less rules so people think less rules is great compared to strict Singapore. But when you are in the recieving end you will know

Alrighttt.. Just wanna let u know. People receiving salaries from other countries, maybe india or for me like malaysia will find singapore's stuff overpriced. But you have your own point too which i agree.

Just chill guys. :) happy holidays

Allow me to clarify Pulsarians Singapore's position on queries about 200NS.

1. No one that we know of has test ridden the bike.

2. We do not know of the pros and cons of the bike apart from what is gathered from India and Indonesia.

3. We do not know the top speed of the bike. Many of us have families and we wish to live a long life.

4. Top speed and torque are two different issues, for over taking you do not need top speed.

5. We usually frown at requests about top speed.

6. Reliability boils down to how you maintain your machine. It is after all a machine.

7. For all other matters, please contact Universal Motors Pte Ltd.

8. Any other questions, please refer to point 7.

@Perfect: please do not compare India and Singapore. Good luck to you importing your bike and car here. Please refer to LTA.gov.sg on procedures. Welcome to Singapore.

Very interesting point! The Pulsar 200's and the Pulsar 200NS torque is almost same but BHP of Pulsar 200NS is much higher. So from your statement, I would imagine the feel of riding around in a pulsar 200 should be same as pulsar 200NS? Its only after 110 kms/hr that Pulsar 200NS will continue chugging along whereas Pulsar 200 will lose breath.

Looks wise I find my Pulsar 200 quite elegant. Pulsar 200NS is a bit alien looking, just like the P135, I dont like its looks at all. The biggest advantage of P200NS though would be the 6th gear, everything else like liquid cooling, rear brakes, 3 spark plugs(lol) is academic to me.

Motorcycle Disk Brakes vs. Drum Brakes

Disk Vs Dumb

Once upon a time, someone on the internet stated that there was nothing wrong with drum brakes on a motorcycle:

"Absolutely nothing.

Plenty of stopping power and no fluid to change and bleed.

Rear drum brake has been put in the same basket as carburetors, ancient technology that deserve ridicule."

While we respect the drum brake, and the author's right to his own opinion, we felt that in this 21st century it's important to back up opinions with some facts.

First off, we have to ask, if drum brakes are as good as disk brakes why don't GP bikes or even sport bikes use them?

They seem to be exclusive to low and small displacement cruisers and scooters.

To answer that we need to understand how brakes work:

Brakes use friction to stop the rotation of the wheel.

That friction gives off heat.

The better your brakes can handle (by this we mean disperse) the generated heat the greater your stopping power.

Try it on a drum brake...

Real life scenario:

You're on the highway and need to hammer the brakes from top speed.

Once the shoe in your drum brake overheats it will feel weaker and spongier.

This is called brake fade.

Drum brakes generate heat in an enclosed space, disks brakes flow through air for cooling.

Some disk brakes are even made of multiple components ("floating rotors") to better disperse heat and avoid warpage.

Disks get contact from two pads generally with multiple calliper pistons and will result in better stopping power, and good disk brakes are far less prone to brake fade than a drum.

Finally, did we mention drum brakes are a royal pain to service?

Every time you want to do maintenance (inspection, cleaning, or replacement) of your drum brake you'll need to remove the rear tire off your motorcycle.

Every time you adjust your chain you'll need to make sure you properly adjust the drum brake to be realigned.

Get too much dust from your shoes and your drum brake will begin squealing...

None of these problems occur with disk brakes, so who needs the hassle for a poorer performer?

btw .. have you ride a liquid coolant bike before ? :)

Thanks MJ bro, I agree disc brakes are new school so surely they must be better than drum brakes. But, I used to ride phantom and it's rear brakes felt as in effective as our drum brakes. From what I read rear brakes are only used to reduce speed, the front is the one that does the majority of the reducing speed and stopping. From phantom forum I read that it is prone to fishtailing if you jam the rear brake hard. Me too I rarely use the rear brake too much, it's the front brake that is more important for me. Also read in India forums that p220 rear disc brakes is not really that effective, I will share the link sometime

Edit: here is the link where people suggesting not to convert to rear disc brake
