Hi all,

I just commited to buying a 2nd hand shadow (97'), and appreciate your advice on the following:

1. Is it normal for the gas tank to feel a bit 'shaky', and not as firmly mounted as what I seen in other cruisers. I was told the slight shakiness is due to design and intended absorb shock during movement.

2. If this is not normal, what would be the likely consequence? gas leakage?

3. What would be the approximate cost to replace the exhaust, as it is a bit rusty? Where can I get a replacement (boon siew?? or any place else cheaper?)

4. Must the exhaust be replaced in entirety or just a single pipe?

Thanks a lot and happy riding.

The tank is shaky by standard i guess.....mine is too....and i tested a few others also....my phantom also like that....

Ask u guys ah.....the specs of ACE400 and ACE750 is it the same? as in the built, frame size, tyres, fenders, exhaust.....and etc.......

Yes. Both models bear the same dimensions. Thus, what accessories fit on the 750 will fit on the 400 as well. :)

Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.

After reading through the threads..my love for cruisers just keep growing esp Shadow. Something I would wana enquire is do u guys experience wet feet during rainy days or riding on wet roads? I am sure phantoms riders do cos i rode phantom previously. Does shadow rider have these prob as well? So how do u guys overcome this prob? Raising yr feet? Put on plastic bags? Thx for the enlightening. hehe ^_^ v

There are only three different Honda Shadow models in the market that is Shadow ACE, Slasher and Special Edition. In regards to version aspect, only Shadow ACE is imported by local motorcycle shops in recent years that is differentiate by the rider's floor board in replacement of foot peg and H.I.S.S feature from year 2004 onwards followed by bearing a different fuel tank emblem from year 2005 onwards. Price wise varies but with the newer version of Shadow ACE going on a slightly higher side.

Wow.. u sure knows alot, dude. i learnt alot from u from other threads as well. :thumb: Why is the big difference in price range btw the 1st and 2nd hand? just because of the H.I.S.S feature?

Shadow Aero 750, yes. It's available and I think Universal Motors is selling it at a for $14k, new? The 750 is a good bike. So good that I'm not letting mine go.

Hi bro,

I ride a Slasher and from my observations, water tends to flow down from the front fender at its highest points (both left and right) and flow outwards to the interface between the fork and fender. At higher speeds, the water will be flung backwards and hence, hitting your shoes. I've gotten no solution to that so far, so any brother's out there with a suggestion would be welcome. :)

The exhaust for the Dragstar is huge. Shadow and Steed seem smaller, so seems like less chance to get burnt. As dreamwalk mentioned, it's more of a pillion thing.

Bro, so any idea how much for a second hand Aero 750?

I got mine for S$11.8k machine price last year.
