New iPhone owner here.

Well, new owner of a used 3G.

Bought one off eBay for a very good deal.

Jailbroken with 3.1.

 

Anyone knows how to do custom SMS tones?

I did a Google and followed nearly all the steps. What I got was silence instead of my intended SMS tone.

I understand suppose to convert whatever short sound clip into AAC format and then rename as sms-received#.caf. Then need to SSH the file into the correct folder.

 

But I still get silence. Rolled back the original sound and the original tone can play normally.

 

Anyone can advice?

You can upgrade the software of any iphone model to 3.1.

 

All iphone model except the 3GS model can be jailbroken.

3.1 for only 2G and 3G. 3GS 3.1 still being worked on last I heard.

now 3GS 3.1 can be JB , unless yours 3GS is 3.1 OTB . Any kind bro that is expert in this or know how can share how to jb ? as I read and read but dont understand :/

The iPhone 3GS is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, assuming the phone was pwned at 3.0 or 3.0.1 - PwnageTool does not support the 3GS out of the box. If your iPhone 3GS has 3.1 preinstalled and is not Pwned then there is no tested jailbreak solution at the moment.

if u using window u can just use blackrain to jailbreak ur iphone 3gs..u can get the info in youtube u just type jailbreak iphone 3gs 3.1.2..

Why waste time creating ringtone in your computer when you can just download (Anyring). It is an app which could change sms tone also..

 

For Gaming cheats you need to download ifile. An app which alow you to modify a file name..

 

To Download a movie thru your iphone you may need dtunes and safari download manager..

 

For 3g iphone who need battery percentage you need to download SBSetting. it allows you to hide or dock in a secret location.. You can adjust brightness on/off 3g wifi and more..

 

Bitesms allows you to make a quick reply and even show photos of your contact plus a counter.. easy to keep track of how much your typing..

 

For 3gs user who wants to jailbreak.. I am afraid only those who bought before starhub and m1 brought in the iphone may do so without being tethered.. Provided it is 3.1.2.. Both quikpwn or blackra1n.. After that you may still do so but it will crash when you off the phone..

 

Got alot more trick up my sleeve..

you will be surprised! it's not as long and destructive as pwnagetool type of jailbreaks... after updating to 3.1.3... i ran spirit... and it was done in less than 2 minutes! honest!

 

but hey hey... MC28... did u check if you lose all your photos in camera roll? my colleague checked and his as well... but at least still got backup lar
