get urself da latest street directory n learn how to read signboards. i'm sure tis basic stuff might be useful for u. might even better, go ride da whole of singapore w/o noeing where u're goin n u might learn along da way.

learn the expressway routes. like example..AYE can bring u from jurong to bedok, ECP. but not yck or maybe sengkang..can bring but ridiculously far. learn the expressway routes..then move to smaller roads.

u can then try major roads..like clementi rd, serangoon rd..so on and forth.

another way you can also follow the bus routes.

i'm sure after years of taking public buses, u sure can remember some routes that bring u from point A and B. though bus routes makes big detours and longer distances, but after sometime u'll be able to combine bus route A and bus route B to get to your destination faster.

following bus routes is just the beginner stage.

If you can read english signs, should be no problem. It takes a while to have a mental picture of the relative positions of the expressway and various areas of Singapore, but after a while, you will have a good idea.

and remember, singapore roads all are inter-link. even if you really got lost, you just keep on going, sure can hit some expressway or some major roads and bring you to somewhere where you are familiar with.

anyway, try using streetdirectory (if it is fully operational online again) or googlemap and roughly study the route first. then once on the road, look for those green signboard that tells you go straight, turn left, turn right will lead you to where.

if all else fails, use hp and call for help.

always plan your route before you leave your house.. having a street directory always helps.. best if you have gps.. certain pple have very good road sense.. tell them roughly and they will know how to get there and wont forget how they got there.. for some, got to go many times before roughly having an idea how to go.. i am that example..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

alternative u can see this link a map of sg and the expressways

http://www.map.gov.sg/StreetMap/

so its easier to plan out,as it shows which expressway connects to which one.

intially i used streetdirectory.com,but now its not in service...:cheeky:

after a while u will get used to the roads.
