Hi guys/gals,

Fyi, if u thought of buying Cheetah alarm system. 4get bout it. Wen 1st I saw the ad in the Motor culture mag, it looks so good with features stating that it includes engine ignition disable. So I went to get more info from the salesman at Sim Lim Tower, level 3. He told me the same thing & told us proudly tat the Cheetah alarm system sold like hotcakes & no complains.

I decided to purchased it since it was so good.....well fyi...the mechanic tat did the installation was reckless wen he did the wiring of my bike,Super 4 vitec 3,he doesn't even noe tat the front signal & headlights r not connected 2 e same conduit. So stupid. Some more, sratch my bike body. He noe only 2 install e S version Super 4. So be careful wen u think want 2 buy tis Cheetah alarm system. Wah lau, only install 4 2 weeks got problem already. Suddenly, the alarm tripped & wen I tried 2 switch off using e remote, can't switch off.I have 2 open up e wiring & disconnect e battery & e power wire 2 shut it up.

So troublesome.I sent for servicing/repair back 2 the salesman. He tel me tat tis alarm no problem, but I saw a lot of service chits 4 tis Cheetah alarm system. Wat a crap & poor after sales service. Up 2 now almost I week,he didn't even try to call me if the alarm is repaired, etc. My advice, please get a better brand & if its cost alot more,I think its worth it. I won't buying cheaper brand in the future......don last long & got lots of problem.

A few notes,

1. You do not have to open more than ONE thread to get your point across.

2. From what it seems, it is more of the incompetency of the mechanic than the product itself.

Machine low risk, as many using and having no problems.. if i've get to know Cheetah earlier before i got my current alarm, i'll get Cheetah anytime..

Man interface high risk, inexperience, half-hearted job..

At least Cheetah got aftersales service, my current one was told to me, install at their "authorised" workshop with 3mths warranty, else no warranty..

will buy a Cheetah for my next bike, or Scorpio if got extra $$$..

do TS have disable engine function installed?? as what i know for most bikers, they only do not install the engine disable/ remote start as these are very complicated wirings, even if install properly will may incure problems after prolong usage.. most just install signal lights that's all..

There's always a risk when buying an electronic products, cos we can not see what's indside. That's y warranty and aftersale service is always the main consideration for me when buy any ele products. To TS suggest u find out what's the problem first, if really a QC issue, go all the way to the shop or even manufacture for claim, talk to their boss instead of saleman, much more effective
