true. but it fish tail during rainy days.

Fishtail due to tapping of rear brakes too hard??? Anyway like the others say, it the rider and not the biker. If you dun take good care of the bike, how can the bike take good care of you.

I always treasure my bikes. I had an accident once, escape in one piece. The bike save my life. Anyway if you think something is wrong, shouldn't you find out why and fix the problem? It could be riding style or even a faulty component.

Example, tire no grip. How to have grip if you are using cheap low quality tires, or tire botak. (Example only hor). That's my view.

i rem those days when the suzuki GSR600 was just launched, the ang-mos claiming the frame is cracking.

so asia ppl start to avoid buying it.

but just b`cos they show pics of frame cracking doesn't means anything, if u see them doing stunts with tat bike, u'll koe & understand Y it's cracking.

ppl say FZ1 frame will tends to crack.

but i'd yet to see to any of these cracks.

if u just ride it the way just like how it was meant to be, & do yr REGULAR maintenance, i believe no bike is a problem bike.

I'd stay clear of "cruiser" bikes unless I travel only straights for short distances so as not to suffer severe vibration syndrome and backaches. Been riding a ta200 close to 2 years.

Average FC, handling not really nice for the hood or squeezing; long wheel base. Maintenance wise should be simple(to me) as checking and topping up of EO weekly, lubing your chain, change of spark plug + air filter, cleaning of brake caliper from brake dust and basic stuffs.

I've heard of serious problems for the Ta200 like piston rings and other engine matters but I've never encountered any of those when the bike is under my care to comment on that. Fish tailing depends on how the person does his braking, most will fish tail because 1stly they are tailgating and knowing they can't brake at ease so they'll jam their brakes.

I have owned this bike so I'm offering my honest views, not shitting on myself but hope others would look at these aspects before they (let their dads) make a choice on the bike they ride.

yo bro ta200 FC is nt average to me is good .. how many bike can hit 35km/litre .. n i agree with u mentioning about fishtail .. n those who say phantom bike raining will skid (try to adjust your breaking technique will do the trick.. mayb like use more engine brake n else) ..as i nv experience before on my previous phantom but of couz others mention abt better quality of tyres i agree wif u guyz too it do makes a diff .. but warning to newbie .. no matter how good ur tyres is, when u riding on wet metal ground it's reli slippery so you got to control ur bike well in this area..

in my personal opinion, even if u had a super good bike, u dunnoe how to "tame" it, it will also become the worst bike. bikes are built for certain reasons and each has their own limitations. regarding the fishtail case during wet rainy days, i noticed that metzeler tyres are pretty common for TA200? maybe as a additional info for u? and also, maybe u can take a look @ this which i finds super informative :D >> http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68364

I rode phantom for almost a year, now riding DR200. I feel that phantom is really not an easy bike to handle but it always make me feel safe and secure due to the crash bars and side boxes.

Dr200 on the other hand gives me the flexibility on the road and better options on terrains. It is a dual sport bike, i have used it to mount kerbs, go down stairs, go through fields, climb up steep slopes and many fun trips.

I personally feel that one's trash can be another's gold. How we view one bike which not be the opinion of another person. ALL bikes have their flaw, and different bikers have their preferences. at the end of the day, it boils down to the relationship between the rider and the bike.

Forgive, and you will be forgiven -Christ

Those of you who say "it is not the bike but the rider" do not know what you are talking about.

I have owned a TZM150 (3+yrs), Phantom TA150 (3+yrs), Sym Magic (1.5yrs) and finally my current CBF150 (1+yrs). I can tell you the Phantom stick out like a sore thumb in term of handling. That said, the Phantom is very comfy to ride... just don't brake moderately hard on a wet road or you will slide all over the place.

I beg to differ. I am riding Ta200, and i like its handling.. guess you must get used to the bike.

Must got the feel when riding yr bike.

All big bikes are good because they handle well because of their tyre profiles. They are heavy but stable at cruise speeds. Great stopping power.

Small bikes, good for commuting and fuel economy. Handling is good for tight corners but not good for cruise speeds.

MOst important is the rider's own discipline to abide by traffic rules and regulations.

You must understand that why race bikes handles well and why cruisers are comfy to ride(bike geometry). I you think the TA200 handling sucks, get a street bike instead of a cruiser.

My 2 cents worth, I hate scooters and cubs because there's nothing there to support my b@lls. Feels like a bicycle. No offense to these group of riders, just my own pref.

people should learn "its not the bike, its the rider" rule is true, but only to a certain extent.. don't over-rate it.. so don't come up with this 'excuse' in most bike related topics..

give one skilful rider a ready-to-scrap bike and think he will not fall? some might say, if the rider give enough care he will rectify the problem and make it a swee bike.. then its not the rider, but rider's pocket..

no offence to anyone.. but i still believe in the saying (to a certain extent).. look at the livng legend, Valentino Rossi..

cheers
