hi guys, just found out something. Perharps those who'r using Battlax BT039ss can check out yr tyres. If u'r using a Battlax BT039SS 110/70-17 for yr rear, chances are its a front tyre used for yr rear. Can check the markings on yr tyre.

http://www.bridgestone-eu.com/articles.asp?ID=270

Stock size for KRR rear is 110/80-17.. kinda weird why there isn't a 110/80-17 profile for rear for the BT039SS

Also there's two models for the BT039. ONE is the BT039 and the other is the BT039SS. Note the SS.

I tink u can go back to Evershine at Sin Ming Autopoint.. it's a corner shop on the ground level.. I had the same problem and had it fixed there for free cos still under warranty..

At first they said have to change the whole ignition (which means u gotta use a different key) but later on they juz changed the lock part for me.. so I can still use back my key..

Yeah.. i believe those who using the 110/70-17 profile(BT039SS) is using a front tyre as a rear. Cause there isn't a rear one.

do you feel the vibration at all speeds ?

Or just at certain speeds ?

I noticed my machine vibrates the most at a particular speed.

Above that speed, the vibration reduced significantly.

I am very sensitive to vibration, which is why most of the time when on long distance ride, i have to wear gloves, else the whole hands will go numb.

You might want to wear gloves when you ride.

Choose those that have pads at the palm and finger areas.

Because I have no positive feel when i wear full gloves, I got myslef a pair of mittens instead.

These are gloves with half-fingers.

That time (which was some donkey years ago) when I got my KRR, I called up Evershine to ask for English manual since it came with Thai instructions. The agent told me that they do not carry the bike and will not offer any support for it.

So did you get your KRR from Evershine ?

Well, i'm not in a position to comment.. But i think there's a reason why they label the tyres "for front use only" and "for rear use only"

Profile

The front tyre is designed with a double crown radius for better handling and a solid grip feel in corners. The rear tyre has a single crown radius for linear cornering performance.

-- Extracted from http://www.bridgestone-eu.com/articles.asp?ID=270

As you can see, there's a difference between the front and rear as explained.

Guys, i think its better to stick with 120/80-17 profile(rear) rather than using a front tyre as yr rear tyre.

Actually the vibration varies with the time of the day and the ambient temperature. On cold days at nite, the engine goes super smooth. On hot days in the afternoon, it vibrates so badly, think my screws will start falling out first.

Think heavy vibration is quite typical of sports bike. How long have you gotten your bike ? If you are new, the vibes will feel unbearable. As you ride longer, should be able to get quite used to it.

Is the vibration consistent ? Meaning 10 times you ride your bike, 10 times you feel the problem getting worse ? Or is it sometimes very bad, sometimes ok ? In the meantime, you might want to look at your 2T and your 4T. I was told before that the grade of lube oil u use has some effects on the vibe. Also check your chain. Make sure it's lubed. And lastly, it might be the steering cone in the middle of your handlebar. That one I dunno how to see one. Will have to ask mech.

Think it's normal with your bike, nothing wrong. But if you want to be safe, go to your mech and have him check it out for you. If you do sent to your mech, let us know what he says ... I'll be interested in his findings.

As for the gloves, keep wearing them. You'll get used to them, just be careful when you ride.

Anyone else with better advice ?
