Hi guys, i got a problem and i hope you guys can help, after kick-starting my bike it just dies off with and without the choke on. And once it does start running , it has rich smell of fuel comming out from the exhaust and then it dies again. Is it the spark plug, batt, or the carb that is giving the problems.

hm

for my bike

i usually need to use choke to start it.....

after parking for ard 2hrs and longer

perhaps my idling is abit low (1K w/ headlights on)

and maybe tuning abit lean (i not sure)

but then bottomline is if using the choke will ensure it wont die off....then use it lor

and try switching off yr headlights, etc before u start yr bike... (applicable to older models w/ workable headlight switch only)

Same same, around 1k rpm with headlights on..

What I do is pull choke to start when engine is cold then when started, close choke and maintain throttle ard 2k for like 20-30secs then it can idle by itself.. :cheeky:

Thanks for the "late" reply but better late than never though.

There are 2 reasons why riders opt for spokey rims. Firstly it lowers the unsprung mass of the wheel hence making it accelerate and stop better than a heavier rim. Secondly, plenty of spokey rim owners I know use them because it's cool (And nothing else!!) I would use it for the first reason but then again, I have had nails in my tires (Using spokey rims) in Lim Chu Kang before. Not a nice feeling and that would put a stop to any such conversion plans for me.

i think tt method would b the "manual" choke... if u know what i mean... not much diff from just leaving it on.

i usually just leave the choke on for abt 20 secs... 10 secs is just too short for the rpms to rise properly.... change plug a little more often is worth the convinience to me...

abt the spokey rim thks but i think they r v hard to clean too :cheeky:

btw can anyone advise abt tyre pressure....am using bt39 to pump how much when tyres r warm vs tyres cold. just did mine at 36 front and 38 rear when tyre hot but i think it's a bit much but i hope the pressure would hv gone down after the tyre is cooled out.

how much do u guys using same tyre pump?

manufacturer recommendation is f28 b32.
