How much is HEL brakehose and how does it affect the braking? Is changing the hose enough or must change all the brakes? I'm kinda confused here.. Hope someone can clear my doubts..

used to have a promotion with the HEL brakelines for front and rear brakes going for $110

but think now promotion period over already

usually pple only change the brakehoses

and perhaps better brakepads

The only thing a "Race" footrest set does is to increase cornering clearance. With stock footrests set, scraping the footrests happen too easily with a small lean angle. However I noticed with most local riders, it is the actual "cool" factor that everybody wants one instead.

hmmm wow u r v frank keke but i think i do agree with u otherwise for some they prefer to put their feet back so perhaps the racing foot peg is a better option

peng you pls go and study the angle of the legs when placed on original and

racing footrest then tell me :sian:

the brake performed better with higher angles of legs placed ( more force exert )

and for god's sake when comes to safety try not to use LAB's stuff :help:

we are talking about stoppin here and u advise to buy 'cheap' 'old' 'steel braided'

hose

in that case u better not pillion anyone cause your ride maybe the fastest on road

but no stoppin power = suicide

sorry if i sound harsh get your priorites straight before its too late :goodluck:

I've tried HEL and LAB steel braided hoses...to me there isn't a difference worth shouting about...

the angle of the original and racing of coz is different, but the force I applied isn't affected adversely by the angle...for me at least~

In any case for original footrests, the freeplay can be adjusted so the brakes makan more with a lighter effort on the lever...so I don't see your point on changing to racing footrests so you can exert better pressure on your rear brake lever...

While I do not doubt his skill about some other stuff, sometimes, you just can't "really" blame those fellas. If your forefathers taught you 1+1=3, you would have believed him & taught your own kids the same thing until one fine day, you discover the truth.

You can try calling them or dropping by their new premises & ask Bernard if he's obliging enough to extend the offer to you. He's pretty OK to CHUM SIONG one & I believe he would. If all things failed, try mentioning my nick... (At this point, he may want to agree to extend the promotion to you or if you see him going into the back of the shop to fetch a knife, RUN!!!!!)

Ridden a KRR in PG with LAB hoses (What the hell was I thinking of?!), the main key thing I found was that the LAB hoses lacked moderation & feel in which to me was a great deal. I remembered seeing something about a brake hose construction comparison (Between HEL & "other stainless steel" hoses) at Vector One before, once you see it, I'm pretty sure you'll agree with why I'm sticking to HEL religiously.

Not that I am condemning "Other brands" but I have busted 2 GOODRIDGE hoses (Different occasions) in my riding life and I cannot imagine a lesser branded one (Come to think of it, LAB hoses does not carry any brand?! Who do I f*ck up when things go wrong?) would have had better quality control than a brandless one?

Lastly, I agree with you on the footrests adjustability on the pedal angle/pressure. It can be done.

well to each his own just hope u wont have to find out the hard way due to saving

a few dollars regarding the brake hose :sian:

think it would need couple of pages to drive thru the pt but cut it short

oringinal footrest use ankle as legs are comfy

racing footrest tuck up the legs with thighs applying as well

i also know cow have milk u can adjust the freeplay to make it more makan

what i saying is the brake improve tremendously with same force used on oringinal

without adjustin the freeplay on racing

quote u example if one of these days if some moron sniped off my front brake

hose i am confident to ride back home with only the rear workin if u catch my drift

The hole that you are referring to is a bleed hole. This is found in mechanical mufflers. As 2T is NEVER combusted (burnt), the exhuast gasses actually carry with them the 2T but in reality not all 2T exits the muffler. With the help of gravity, the oil will gather at the lowest point of the muffler (That's where the bleed hole will be) and drip out (Hence causing some worry initially!! Heh Heh!). Imagine if the bleed hole does not exist? The muffler will eventually be filled with leftover 2t!! For those of you who have used aftermarket mufflers before (Which usually does not come with a bleed hole), when you remove the silencer/fibre, it is usually soaked with oil at the point where the expansion chamber and the muffler meets right?

If every 2 stroker gets rid of 2T via the bleed hole..then the poor foogie who goes over the spilt 2T on the road can whoopie liaoz right?

I also goondoo riding krr.. Still in learning phase..

Was wondering, when moving from traffic lights.. You all drag gear 1 until how much rpm then change to gear 2? Some krrs i see pickup damn fast..

I tried dragging gear 1 till 6-7k rpm but when i close throttle to change gear, the engine brake is too much, very jerky, bet it doesn't look nice..

4-5rpm best at 5. sometime i do go til 6rpm ...no need to drag la...when the 5rpm come u will know the feeling need to change gear le.

With the help of gravity, inside the muffler of a stationary bike, the "excess" oil will flow downwards to the lowest point of the muffler where the bleed hole usually resides. As you may have already noticed, the oil seeps through the bleed hole verrrrrry slowly even when stationary hence I do not see a problem with your "leaking oil scenario. On the contrary, I have seen strokers spewing out so much 2T from the tip of the muffler, it is virtually impossible to ride behind them without dirtying your bike or clothes!!
