Aren;t we all taught to close throttle first then clutch in before u change gears in driving centers? :D

wah okie you guys really dug up an old discussion... had to go back quite a few pages to refresh myself.

well i admit that maybe i didn't really explain myself very well in that old post back there. what tom3694 said is indeed the proper and correct way of changing gears quickly without jerking and is the one taught to us all in the schools. if you want to learn the "proper" way of riding i've no doubt tt his method is the way to go.

what i was "trying" to say (unsuccessfully, it seems, lol) is that personally, i find it a little smoother than the above method if the clutch in and close throttle overlap a bit. which means you clutch in just a tiny fraction of a second before you close throttle completely, not the other way round. note the word completely. i feel the jerking of the engine brake is caused by people closing throttle TOO FAST. so mayb we should learn to regulate our throttle also. yes you will be free wheeling but just for a fraction of a second (0.2s? 0.3s? i dont know).

i find this totally eliminates any jerking as long as ur clutch control is good and you dont throw the clutch. the bad thing about this is that it does FRY your clutch plates (which is why i posted about changing them a while back)....

anyway its just subconscious for me liao... i cant really describe it very well... it works for me... i don't know abt you. i just naturally picked it up trying to find the most comfortable way to control my bike... cos i really really cant stand any jerking at all.

btw :offtopic: , i find it helps on bikes that have really strong engine brake. i tried my friend's cbr150, the engine brake is really strong and i find it more comfortable to use the clutch to regulate.

izzit easy? juz unscrew and screw back izzit? need soldering a not? izzit must get e same volt and watt one?

im not sure for the front

but for the rear

there's slight modification required to be done to either the signal light or to the mudguard if u wan to fix up NSR SP-type signal lights

either drill/widen hole on mudguard or saw off the tip of the signal light

try to get back similar wattage one

voltage wise i believe most bikes are 12V

anyway the wattage depends on the bulb not the cover/casing

seriously Aerosmith there's nothing wrong with your method

personally i used that method in NS highway not closing throttle at all when changing gear ( had to be done swiftly )

but its a problem to use it often as its harsh towards the bike esp the clutch, speed high enuf to kiss your license goodbye and sillpore's traffic doesnt allowed it :sian:
