Interesting point for technical discussion. I have noticed older models of KRR (Don't know much riders riding new ones) having slight problems with shutting of the valves. Initially, I thought it could be due to carbon buildup but I may be forced to concede that the problem could lie elsewhere (Example: centrifugal governor). Just a simple poll, who had the "carbon clearout" servicing session and solved the problem and who had to pay more for to get something changed before the problem went away?

i clear carbon and the weak throttle no more for like 2 wks? den come back. yupz.

well... as someone who rides a newer bike... i've noticed sometimes when i close throttle the rpm goes down very slowly, i assume this is the symptom of jammed valve....

but it only happens at very high rpms on NSH. 8k+. i've never experienced it in singapore.

btw guys, if you're wondering wtf we're talking about, DP HH brake pads are available for KRR at vector one. they claim its supposedly better than EBC HH.

and on the side i'll just like to share a very good experience i had at combine motor here...

My KRR also the 'top' light sumtimes have, sumtimes dun have...i think i figured out y... must hit a certain rpm then then top light will appear...say for example u change gear at 4 rpm til 6 gear...then wun have light...this is wat i noticed dunno if it applies to yr prob or not...jst trying to help...

hmz..reasons i can tink of for

TOP light never light up either due to:

1. loose wiring/connection either at sensor or at meter bulb

2. faulty sensor

long riding trips to msia u can consider asking A3rosmith

but one thing would be that cant be use so many spark plug as yr friend said

what spark plug he use? those cheapo type? or decent ones like NGK?

spark plug wont fail so easily as long as the bike has got the correct tuning/setting

and IMO....i tink u can probably maintain ard 110-120KMPH on the bike nia...anything higher could be risky (personally feel 2B bikes not meant to travel too fast i.e 140-150KMPH for too long distances)

and travelling at higher RPMs for long distances could result in numbs in fingers

if you clean valve only and never open block there will still be carbon around your piston head right?

if you wanna do it right i guess u have to do it all... valve, block n exhaust belly.

The top light should light up even when you're not moving but at 6th gear..

jt9d : its probably something wrong with your sensor. cos i've never had a problem getting the light to light up at any rpm. the sensor is in the side panel right next to the gear lever, quite easy to open up.

riding to kl isn't as hard as it sounds, but it isn't that easy either. most of it is common sense, keep the bike in good condition before you go. just make sure to watch your 2t and coolant levels and top up at petrol station when needed... you will def need to top up 2t at least once or twice during the entire trip. i like to carry a 500ml bottle of petronas semi-syn just in case u run out of 2t in the middle of nowhere.

other things you might like to take note are your front and back suspension, the roads can be bumpy n filled w potholes and our suspension can spoil easily. i once went on a trip with a spoilt suspension, it was very dangerous and i didn't enjoy it at all.

speedwise i would prefer to go a bit slower. this might be a bit hard though esp if not going alone. most vehicles on NSH will also be going faster than 120. also watch out for strong crosswinds since kips is very light, and the heavy traffic as you approach kl itself.

ur friend probably has some problems with his spark plug or the plug cable, i can go there and come back using $4 denso plug... no prob :thumb:

carbon bulid up is 1 thing the rubber cover obstructs the cooling of valves plus the

plates grooves caused by wear and tear slows the valves rotating :sian:

had them removed for awhile the feelin sensational but afraid of debris gettin in-

between so LL put them back

ah........ i managed to reached jb's sentosa from esso gp in 10-15 mins time

travelling above 180km plus no problem at all to the kips its a walk in the park

for the bike ( make sure the brakes and tyres in good condition )

as for the numbness the big balancers will save you from that :thumb:
