This sounds embarassing but i need all the help i can get from any of you experienced S4 riders out there.

I'm taking my 2a course and wonder if there's any way to make handling the S4 easier?

I find the S4's weight a little heavy and I also find it hard to control the throttle as just a little twist in second gear can send the bike lurching.

Didn't help that i've been riding a scooter for almost a year and having to re-learn using the clutch foot brake.

When doing the S course and crank course, is it better to lean the body or lean the bike?

Any advice also for the bumpy course and slalom?

Thanks guys (and girls! - seeing petite ladies on S4s makes me really envy! :thumb: )

No worries bro.. 'if u never seen a monkey b4.. would u know hw a monkey looks like?"

even the best rider starts as a newbie..

regarding e weight issue... for me during my 2a course at bbdc.. intructor wan us to dis-engage from main stand.. i jerk the bike forward.. next moment.. suddenly find the weight learning away from me.. & bamm! its on the floor..

a fellow 2a learner has to help me lift up.. after i get used to it & the technique.. no issue anymore ;)

for bumpy.. imo.. i applied wad e instr taught.. i bend my knees.. lean slight forward.. kinda like gripping yr fuel tank with yr "knee cap" & applied e open throttle & close technique... the whole idea is to keep yr CG low so u can control the bike better..

for slalom.. imo.. trottle to give a short burst of power when yr bike is almost upright.. close in time when u gonna negiotiate another cone.. turn & lean slightly with e bike as soon as when yr front tyre gonna bypass the next cone.. if u did it correctly dont worry yr back wheel will topple e cone.. trust yr instinct...

this is wad i recall how i pass.. ha.. u will find a way that best suits u in time as u practise.. sure thing.. all e best bro :thumb:

whack only..don't tension..get comfortable with the bike..be ONE with the bike..the more you worry while riding, the more mistakes you'll make..just relax, and go thru the motion..breathe in, breathe out...relax.....that's it...........

Hi TS, my advice is dun worry, as time goes by you will become proficient with S4. i was quite hopeless then too. i have to use 5 lessons to clear the 3 pracs when others used only 3. My frens always hao lian in front of me on how easy it is for him to clear the 2A pracs but i never felt that way, to me, it is difficult haha. i was not very comfortable with the bike even after passing TP, it is only after riding for a yr on mi current S4 that i am getting comfortable with it.

Didn't think i could becos I buang during RC just before my test. Locked my front wheel during e-brake and got a sprained wrist as a souvenir.

had to endure the pain during my test but luckily got away with just 8 demerit points, for not checking blind spot and not looking out for traffic at junction.

otherwise, everything else was clean, including all the obstacles.

anybody knows anyone who wants to buy a 2B bike? :cheeky:

Congrats! :cheer:

Checking blind spot during lesson/TP is passing thru motion to reduce demerit pts.

Checking blind spot correctly OTR is to save life =D

When i just pass 2B i also found my sp bike very heavy, when learning for my 2A at ssdc using their super4, i find even more heavy , jialat liao, still have to learn how to engage to main stand. After many yrs with my super4 i now find it not as heavy as b4 le. One day i try to push my frd 2B bike , WOW it was so light loh , i was preparing to use the force to push like mycurrent s4 strength and the 2 B bike move very fast with s single push...

class 2 bike is even more heavy but if u get use to ur 2 A bike i dontthink it is so heavy as before le. dont forget class2 test u got to push down the bike and lift up the bike and go one round of figure 8 de hor. Trust me with yrs of handling ur super4 bike , it is very easy to handle the weight of bigger class2 bikes le.

i know. at my 2A test we were watching this petite girl taking her class 2. i thought the bike was going to crush her! and when you see her struggle to lift it up afterwards, you can't help but feel stressed out as well!

nah.. safety checking during the actual TP test not exactly as strict lah.. actually its quite easy to pass, they really have the bochup attitude. as long as you practice a safe riding style and show that you are confident with the bike with no immediate failures, should be no prob passing =D
