I need to enquire about side pannier. What model is best? I'm using it for work where i need to put a helmet and some other stuff in like safety helmet, shoes etc and also for touring. I want the box to be ready to go not for work i use 'A' and when i wanna go tour i use 'B' .. I want it to be multi purpose, looking for fazerians opinion on the side pannier matter .. THanks in advance!

I highly recommend to install Givi cos the mounting rack can be used on most panniers, I have tried mine V35 and swap to E21

How much is the timing chain? What's point of buying this bike if you dont drag? 14000rpm is meant to be drag right??

It's not so much the cost of the timing chain. It's more the labour charges involved in changing it. Revving it up under load shouldn't really cause much harm. It's pointless high RPM revving on an unloaded drive system that may cause problems. E.g. in neutral when you snatch a handful of throttle and rev to 10K rpm suddenly just to hear the exhaust. Chain can flail around under sudden decel and beat up the CCT. Same goes for excessive engine braking, e.g. dropping to low gear suddenly from high speed and dumping the clutch.

Agreed cos I find it weird for people to buy the bike for its performance but don't utilized it. I mean fz6 is not that bad as it doesn't really frighten me as much as sport bike does. Even for 600cc class, fz6 does not have the power surge unlike r6 in power delivery aspect as a comparison . I rode my bike hard but don't abuse it. I stick to a very strict oil change intervals and maintain some parts like coolant and brake oil myself to ensure I used the quality products on critical fluids. Engine oil no choice as waste management posed a problem that why have to do in shops. After 2 weeks of owning it. I felt it is a very fun bike as per most class 2 bikes when it is used for the intended purpose it is built for.

Sometimes ppl buy bike not for performance only. Some just like the bike. Doesn't mean high RPM can drag it like no tmr. Like Tachnicolour mentioned, the under load problem. I gave info based on my personal experience. But it's up to you to feel and experience. And it's your bike so how you handle, ride, play etc... Your own responsibility.

FZ6 is using de-tune engine of R6.. So won't have the power of R6. It's a fun bike that is quite versatile. Can use for daily commute and touring.

Btw, I never hit top speed on my FZ6.

Let's just ride....

I AM BACK!!!!!

Will get mine in mid aug. More or less similar i believe in comparison with maintenance of super4. Hachi hows the fz6 treating you so far? The riding posture wise and FC? Hw is it?

FC just tried around 299 km right before the meter blinks. Around 19-20km per litre. Not too bad. Maintenance wise should be the same as S4 except the tires.

Riding posture cannot comment as I just came from 3 years of scooter ownership.

Clocked about 3.5k km on my 3 month old frazer. Was getting a fc of about 15KM/L but after i went north for top speed, my fc improve to 16KM/L. Always riding with 3 boxes and 1 tank bag.

getting around 17km/l. Mostly 2 up riding with 3 boxes.

not a cause of concern, can continue to ride. might be air gushing in perhaps.

Used to own fz6S2. If my memory serve well, your fan should cut in at 100c and off by 95c.

Thanks, I also vaguely remember my 2005 R6 cut in at around 102C or so and bring the temp to 95C. Might be the thermostat faulty or fan. When I drained the coolant, it turned out black in color, so i guess the previous had not maintained it very well.

Any idea FZ6S2 uses which battery, 12 or 9? TIA.

I get about 20km/L for my 9 year old fazer 600. Seldom exceed 6k rpm.

I usually drag if the road in front allows. But less than 10000rpm. I find that the engine is not as willing as R6 ones. Just change oil and see how, as the previous overfill the oil. Maybe is because of that.
