isnt it true to a certain extend?

the moment my bike starts i would switch my headlights on.. no point letting them catch for nothing..

Had install mine at k&t for $50. can call to check if still got stock. 67455463

$50!! are you kidding? a switch dun even cost more than $5..

50 bux for a headlight switch is utter nonsense...

totally agree with you, a bypass headlight switch shouldnt be so expensive..

Well it just a personal preference to off the headlights during day time:-)

a personal preference to have TP to stop you OTR for not turing on your headlight during the day..

Yammies are good, the headlight will only turn on after the bike is cranked..

for those still searching to do the headlight switch, ask your regular mechanic.

buy him a cuppa coffee, you might even get it done free..

seriously, my S4 had a headlight switch, but i never used it..

$50 realli too expensive le. A switch is realli beri cheap. Easily can buy at Sim Lim then DIY can oready. Less than $1 tink so.

For mi my frend gav mi the switch. Free...lol

I can understand when the battery is low, cranking with the headlight ON is making the situation worse.

I myself also experience this setback because I use my bike only about once a week. Anyway, 1 way is to press the starter switch slowly to its mid-way position and hold on to it in this position. The headlamp will be cut-off when the starter switch is held mid-way. Hold it for about 10 seconds and then start the engine. This will allow sufficient time for the battery to regain its voltage again for a good cranking. I had also retrofitted my own home-made spark enhancer circuit, which also helps in cold starting.

To ride without the headlamp ON is a risk because the traffic police may stop you with a summon unless you can prove that your headlamp had just spoilt. However, you'll still be slapped with an inspection notification which will then incur some money again.

For me the reason for the on/off switch is because the internal switch is faulty and replacing it quite costly so the cheaper alternative will be using the switch. Normally switch off the lights b4 engine shutdown. Start bike off once engine on switch on the lights

Oh yes..can be done but so far for my meter set, its variable in brightness. Not sure for the $50 that someone here fixed for..I wouln't say its expensive if the switch are those heavy duty water proof type. It may be a easy job for some, but time spend by mototiam mech are labour time and the shop rice bowl. If he makes $15.00 changing eo in 15 mins and if the switch job for the headlamp takes 30 mins..that's how the boss would charge..plus stocking or getting the items and know how..its call business. If one find its an easy DIY thingy..then you shouldn't be there in the first place. I did for ppl for $75.00 and that comes with a specially made bracket with two switch mounted(waterproof)..one for fan on/off and the other for headlamp. There is a thing call a good neat job with reliable components and another call..Chen_Chye_choe...can on'off can olehdee! As long as end of the day..you are happy for what you pay for what you get..its okay lah. DIY urself oso dunno how?...time oso don't have..where to get the right stuff oso dunno?..how?..expensive?..may be not.
