AJ - Yep, i'm asking arnd and doing my research to build up on my knowledge about going on offroad adventure trips. I would love to start small but unfortunately, financially wise I can't afford it. It's gonna be tough for me for the first few times that's why i need all the guidance i can get... I'll be asking arnd for tips and feedbacks so the least i can do is prepare myself mentally... Hope you can share me some of experiences bro..

If you're off-roading skills is limited or close to none,no point of getting someting which is beyond your capability just becoz you've seen or heard other's do it...

 

Anyways,here's my fairbit of sharing to motivate you from doing off-road on a lighter non-adv bike.Me and 3 others did last weekend.

1 is just a begininer,and have started to love dirt,the others,have rode a dirtbike before,but never been to the limit. and for myself,on and off....Check out the link below.

short vidz...listen to how the trottle is used and to stand up and let your body movement takes control...that's how to be able to balance the bike in those deep sand situation.

yo bro... saw ur multiply pics and they were great! I've added u in already... Its true that u said no point in getting something which is beyond my capability so i need ur opinion. I have no experience at all doing dirt riding. So from your point of view, which bike should I go for? Cos I plan to use it for trail and also touring... I wish to join some of the trips cstay recommends and also ur dirt sessions...

Hi Strommers,

 

Intend to get the DL1000 first hand. I've checked a few shops and it appears that Loois' may be the only shop in Singapore that still has it! Hope to learn more about the bike from you guys. Maintainance wise, what requires regular servicing? Other than engine oil, oil filter and spark plugs. These are the main stuff that i changed regularly on my previous bike.

That's about it for the strom too, other than those wear and tear items like chains/sprockets/tires...

as you're in the strom section,so i'd say go for the strom...but the DL650 would be the best choice...the pioneers in this thread may give you a better heads up the DL...:thumb:

okie.. i'm back.

just got back from Looi's , FR for the day 18.8k OTR for a K8 DL650 ABS.

my mistake cos the K9 haven't reach our shore yet.

 

btw, i saw a blue DL650 which is sold.

comes fitted with main stand.

any chances the owner is here reading this?

 

 

being kaisu abit here, cos i wanna plan my options well before i get the bike.

Any street legal aftermarket exhuast option for the 650?

onli managed to source out a LV street legal full system @ 1.3k+

i'm open for options & all aftermarket parts.
