Ur Wish Confirm + chop cannot come true....

They are PI and only comes from Loois....

Including DL650s?

I was reading another thread about some guy who bought a new DL1000 and went to GH to fix it.

Was wondering why would GH fix it if its PI...

Mine also more or less abit..

Even after changing neccessary stuff.. sometimes its ur tire pressure, pillion weight against urs, rear gantong too soft.

its ok one...... cos its slow speed..... High speed u should worry ...

Hey Da,

u have to get it check. Sounds worrying to me. I dun experience wobble at slow or high speed. Did felt bad wobble only when cruising abt 160-180kmh with pillion and 3 loaded boxes.

Bet that if its poorly inflated tyre, u shld have felt it while turning.

I see your gsr600 in the classifieds. If I were looking for that genre of bike, I will be all over yours. Welcome to the dark side.

I see the dl650 at GH showroom floor in rangoon but not the dl1k...now and a few years ago it was the same. Not sure what it stands for. Anyway, does it matter? If you are looking for assurances through GH, be prepared to be dissapointed.

Is it GH's practises that they ONLY service anything that came out from their shop? This i do not know.

1 thing for sure is DL1k spare parts are available in Eversuccess. So I think its consider agent bike. 650 is 100% PI cos they say officially they don exist and no have sparepart catalogue there. One thing for sure. DL650 shhare a lot of stuff with DL1K and SV650 and other GSXR parts. So its realidy available. U must know what to look for when u are in need of spare parts and go to a shop that knows suzuki bikes...

Hahahha!

Thanks. Suzuki bikes are just meant to be modded and upgraded, regardless of costs. Thus my peverse love for Suzuki bikes.

I had looked at a few bikes and came to the idea of DLs just yesterday.

GSR400s will have a hard time trying to convince GH to get them serviced. I would not even start with parts.

But its a common knowledge that agents have the 'choice' to refuse bikes that are from PIs. At the very least they're sure to charge 'premium' prices for PI bikes purchasing parts from agents.

Anywayz, I just went to Looi's just now. Mr Lee says the next stock of DL1000s are coming in around January. Ard 22K OTR or so he says.

He has DL650s in stock rite now.

Ok, I know I should search for this but the best info comes from those who rode it themselves:

How are the FC for the DL650 and the DL1000?

I'm deciding which one.

I've already ridden 2 streetfighters, 2 choppers and 1 supersports.

Right now I'm leaning for an enduro bike.

I need something that has pretty good legs coz if my daily commute (Jurong East -> Punggol -> Town -> Jurong East). I also need it pretty fast (my insatiable thirst for speed) but not superbike fast. And in between, I need something that can help me with the laptops and items me and my wife need to carry to work.

I may go do more touring with this bike.

I've looked at the CB1000R (good FC but poor pillion seat and no racks for panniers), the Tenere (great bike but absolute PI means I'm like starved of options for spare parts and price is same as the CB1000R) and a Fuoco (great bike but a scooter means a bit underpowered for my tastes).

The DL1000 would be an interesting choice coz its using a TL1000 engine, something I'm very familiar with having owned a TLR before.

But the FC for this one is a bit question mark. The DL650 I know has better FC but power when compared the weight becomes a question.

Any opinions anyone?

look like the dl1000 is your cup of tea. exactly like what you are looking for.

like wat you say, the dl650 has good fc but lack of that little bit of top speed at times if you are looking for anything more than 160km/h in comfort.

estimated fc for dl650::angel:

80-100km/h, 25-27km/l

100-120km/h, 24-25km/l

120-140km/h, 20-23km/l

150km/h & above, 13-19km/l

Wow!

thanks for the figures.

Anyone has figures for the DL1000?

Looking at the excellent figures and the fact that it can reach 150km/h range is very intriguing, especially since I forsee a lot of city and stop-go riding.

How are the FC for the DL650 and the DL1000?

I'm deciding which one.

=> DL650 avg range 25km/L local

DL1k avg range 19km/L local

I've already ridden 2 streetfighters, 2 choppers and 1 supersports.

Right now I'm leaning for an enduro bike.

=> Phantom, S4, Blackbird, Silverwing, 1st non-honda strommy 650

Chopper. Street, Sports tourer, Tourer scoot, enduro

=> wats ur avg speed? if its locally 100-130.... Tats wat i do normallly

SK, TPE, SLE, BKE, KJE, Tuas .. .and back how does tat sound? ~80km per day for work ALONE.

I am riding k4 model... if the latest model FC ~21km/L. 08

I hitting reserve @ 400~410km topping up 19L petrol. U do the math

If you need LOTSA TORQUE 1k be the one

If you need HIGH FUEL ECONOMY,power ok ok ...... (not to mention INsurance, Road tax) 650 be the one.

Other than tat.. Looks diff only 2 vs 1 exhaust

Only question to ask urself is Wallet Vs Power

Cool!

Will check out that thread on the comparison.

But no go for the F800GS. Love Beemers but with the missus aiming for a car next year, think I'll keep my bike costs low.

A Wee is still a Suzuki. Any issues, I just ride over to Ah Chong at Planet for a full satisfying lookthrough at the same quality as PML but at a fraction of the price.

You can consider SW-Motechs like the ones on my GSR. Using E41s also rite now.

Quik-lock means easy removal. German engineering means high quality.

But of course it will cost a bit more.

Guys,

Sorry to be a real pest here (LOL).

Any DL1000 owners who have frequently ridden in city traffic can share their FC figures?

I've spent the last 3 hours thereabout searching for FC info and getting a lot of mixed info, especially when combined with info provided here.

SBF - avg 19km/l

This Thai review (http://www.motorcycle.in.th/article.php/Suzuki-DL1000-V-Strom-Japanese-Grand) - 12.3 km/l  :faint:

StormTroopers forum (http://www.stromtrooper.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8015) - avg 17~km/l

I'm really into the 1000 and most prolly will wait for Mr Lee to bring the next batch in Jan next year (allows me to save up some heavy duty D/P as well).

But I'm kinda concerned as it will be 50% expressway riding (100-110 km/h range) and 50% city riding.

Any inputs?

see my previous reply..

Why? hepco rack-only accomodates hepco luggage....

The swMotech-most practical rack i've come across.costs a lil more than the other two(givi and H&B),but can accomodate hepco/givi/krauser panniers with the appropriate adapter. don't have to use compensating sizes(one wider than the other).

Anyway, with me and the top box on its already almost 140kg on the dl650 which comes with the above racks. I have never used side racks, and dont intend to. I will sell these racks off if anyone intested. New price is $450. Selling almost new for $350. For pic pm me. you can check with adventure on wheels for actual pricing choy(tel:68990148)

Also, selling away the "legal with lta cert" remus revolution end can dat come with my dl650 when I bought it 2 months ago... great exhaust, nice looks. Always preferred stock cans, old habit.
