Box, Side Panniers Related Issue

Unless anyone is interested in getting the display set from Boon Siew which has been there for ages!! About 4 years in display, I think... Perhaps can get them to knock down the price???

I wanted to get from Mah when I get my VFR las week.But was told that no more stocks,they brought in 3 sets of V35s,2 are with ah boy,1 at motorworld.

 

My friend riding a fazer brought 1 set from ah boy,$580 for the boxes,$180 for the racks.Another of ah boy set went to Southern Motor and was fixed on a GSR.Motorworld selling a set with racks for $1030.

 

I had placed order from Mah for the next shipping,which is end on June.

Bro, already checked with Elyn of Givi at Mah. The whole set would cost roughly $1300. That too, the panniers are not available until June.

she(Elyn) always quot different price. i got one set with elyn of givi at mah cost $1037.90(including GSTand installation). colour mattblack. my hp nos 93635719.

Any fellow VFR riders that have the OEM panniers installed? Preferably someone staying around the west area as I can't ride too far due to injuries.

 

I just had a crash and totally destroyed one of mine and I need to borrow another one to test if my mounting bracket is intact before I place an order for a replacement.

I'm ok aside from a bruised wrist and a bruised ego.

 

My left pannier wasn't so luck though. The mounting bracket's completely mangled and unusable.

 

Funnily, the impact was on the right

Any VFR forum in Malaysia, maybe can ask our cross border Viffers for advise on this.

I recall seeing the PLX166 bracket plus the V35 set at Motoworld Ubi. Choy quoted me $1030 for it. Perhaps you wanna check it out? At least its cheaper than the original panniers (which ironically are made by Givi too..)

they order on-line but can't recall from which website.

cost about $1K (box+bracket) + freight charges.

haha i'[m thinking of installing the small little TP boxes E21 on my viffer, i dont need such a big pair of panniers because i already have a top box lah. Bix box also difficult to lane split when you have to.

 

Whats your take on this?

Thinking of getting the V35 save almost half of it. Somemore i will need to spray the box to match my bike color.

Heck the look man, i already have an ugly HnB 45l box alrdy, adding in 2 more ugly box wun affect much hahaha. The only reservation i have now is because they are givi boxes lol! too bad Hnb dun have decent small side boxes.

 

Anyway boxes cost only 190++ but the rack is gonna cost from Mah. The last i heard from Mah, the sideracks for V35 is around 200+ or issit 300plus. Crazily over-priced

Mind if I ask how much are these small little TP side boxes??

 

Is it like you mentioned above, boxes cost SGD 190++ (two boes = SGD 190++ or each box costs SGD 190++?? ) but the rack is going to cost from Mah Motors?

 

I have a 45L(or 48L, can't remember) Coocase box, so like you, who cares about the out-look of the bike.

 

I just find that sometimes when I am out shopping with my wife, my top-box is NOT enough to keep our things, as I still have rain-coats, bike-cover, etc. in my top-box.

 

So if can install the two small side boxes, at least I can keep my rain-coat, bike cover at the side-boxes to free up space in my top-box. heehee...

why dun you go "full touring order" liao by installing the painner too???

since you alway got so much to carry around (including the missy)....

 

i got 40 litres painner and a 45 litres top box all from H&B....

i alway have to carry my rollerblade, skating helmets, spare helmet, raincoat, 2 set of spare rollerbade wheels (each are 100mm wheel), bike cover, shower bag and things i USED to carry to work...... (it was last time when i was working) .....

 

I would go for at least 4o litres painner so at least next time touring oso just nice.
