There are already GPS for bikes, waterproof ones.

But dont come cheap compared to car GPS.

For local, think will hardly come into use.

For touring, its good lah. Why reject technology? :)

U have to buy a mounting for the GPS, if u want to use it on the bike.

Going to cost around $150-$200 perhaps for that mounting.

And since it is not waterproof (i presume), then it is going to be rather troublesome, given the unpredictable weather here.

Ultimately, if you are hardly going to use it, then dont bother. :)

Yes, most GPS are not waterproof.

The ones meant for bikes are waterproof, but will cost 2-3 times that of the usual GPS.

So, if you do not intend to use the GPS frequently, then the $$$ will not be well spent. Maybe the money is better used on a aftermarket exhaust.

some1 has posted a GIVI water proof handlebar mounted GPS pouch for those thinking of using non-waterproof car type GPS device.

Do a search of the threads or google for GIVI, or check it out at MAH.

errr... i am interested in the garmin 60csx, but its still very pricey for this old model., might as well use the money for other bike upgrades, eg. exhaust.

I wanted to buy a gps last time too. then realised, i get used to sg road quite easily within half a year. Im still a hor-lan queen. but well, i still get to my destination. sg is too small to really go mia. I'll only use if im touring overseas ba

You brought it on a plane? :)

I like the handheld units (got myself a 2ndhand Vista CX) because they use AA batts instead of 12V... don't have to run extra wiring and can use when off the vehicle.

Only slight downside maybe a bit more leceh to use with gloves, but no problems so far.

Got the RAM mount for it from Ebay for ~$70 incl shipping ($50 + $20).

My bike is stock! Please don't jio me!
